Here's why I don't have a problem with DGB going to Mizzou...

I realize their in the East and we have to play them every year BUT Mizzou does not have the offensive weapons that Arkansas and the other SEC teams have on their rosters. It's gonna be alot easier to handle this guy at Mizzou then at any other school for the next four years. I would much rather be able to double cover him during the regular season than be restricted to single coverage in an important game like the SEC Championship (if he had went to Arky and they won teh West).

Yup, if he had to go to the SEC, then a school like Mizzou is where we should want him to go.

If we were where we used to be and should be hopefully we would not worry about who gets who but instead the plot thickens

Even James Franklin will have trouble overthrowing/under throwing dgb. He instantly takes their offense to another level. And their other receivers are capable of taking the pressure off of dgb as well. Many on here underestimate mizzou. I hope the team doesn't.

Apparently no one told him that this was WR U. That said, I'm really not concerned, our wide receiver class is nasty this year and we have two of the top WR in the SEC already. Also, one WR rarely touches the ball enough to be the difference in a game.

I don't think these statements imply an understimation of Mizzou. Rather, i think it is practical to say that when you line up Mizzou with most offenses in the SEC. Their skill positions are not in the same league (atleast not yet). And i'm stating that with the consideration of DGB.

...even with the "oh they didn't play in the sec" taken into account, not really;

that offense moved pretty well as it was (they pretty much had 2 1,000 yard rushers - including the QB Franklin - and the QB himself accounted for about 36 Total TDs with almost 3,800 total yards)...all this did is give them another big (and ridiculously tall) weapon on the field;

if the receiver's as good as he's supposed to be, it would rather be better to have to match up defending (him) sparingly rather than yearly

...Unless this thread is just supposed to somehow be some sort of relief at somehow lessened chance of having a heart-breaking season ending loss or something...

Many seem to consider it a 50/50 game

Also maybe NCAA forum? Not sure

#1 WR recruit < Justin Hunter

And, we have Rogers and inked CP and Croom today.

We're loaded. There's a decent chance that if we had DGB, it would have simply added to the 5* bust problem at UT.

No way he's an automatic starter over the WR's we have.

We are WR U!

because he is from Missouri and wanted to represent his home state and take a team to the top if possible. What a novel concept. I know smaller states don't care about that but being from CA I despise so many top recruits leaving to play elsewhere all of the time. Good for DGB to stay home and try to make Mizzou relevant. He didn't choose them because of the SEC but because that's where his home is located.

Who would/will we have actually cover him?

For the upcoming year, i'd say the Waggster. He will make a contribution his freshman year but I don't think it'll be such an impact that PW can't handle him. I don't care how big, fast, or strong you are, there is still a learning curve when you go from high school to the SEC. Especially with fast dbs that will smother you in coverage and knock you of balance at the line. Should be interesting. Gonna be fun to watch him play for the next three years for sure.

And as for the NCAA forum thing. I wasn't sure whether to put it there or not since I felt like it concerned us playing defense against him for the next three years.

I'd much rather of him went to a school in the west(except Bammer). Mizzou is gonna be a crazy matchup, they keep 4 WRs on the field almost all the time, our defensive backs will get a workout

yeah, it's a nice story when it plays out as such

(however, i am more of the opinion that you pick whatever school you feel is the best place/feel for you and/or your future)
