Ok, so Simms didn't quite work out. After seeing him stumble from game to game, he made quite a good number of plays, but he just isn't fit to be a qb in major college football, we all know that now. Bray has given me hope when he has come into games. The kid is young, but he is also accurate, calm in the pocket, and doesn't have a crappy attitude from what we have seen so far, so what does Mr. Bray do for the Big Orange Faithful, well here ya go, and I GUARANTEE IT!!!

11/6 @ MEMPHIS- Bray shows up big in his first start and the Vols roll to pick back up confidence.

11/13 Vs Ole Miss Black Bears- Yeah, dumb new name, I agree. Bray wins again, may not be big but it's a win.

11/20 @ Vandy- Well it's Vandy, Vols win again, chalk it up, it's three in a row.

11/27 Vs Kentucky- Ok, we all know how Kentucky was hot at the beginning of the year but they played Louisville, which has been drowning for a while, Akron and Western Kentucky, which falsley blinded everyone. Kentucky then went on and lost and then played like a whole new team against USC JR and won. Well ever since then, Joker's boys have turned back into, well good ole mediocre Kentucky, Bray throws for a bunch, Vols win and seal a bowl deal.

I think they are still the Ole Miss Rebels. The Black Bear is their mascot. Kind of like Smokey is for us, but we're not the Tennessee Blue Tick Hounds.

And I would love to end the season that way. But QB isn't even close to our only problem. I think the biggest difference playing him now makes is the experience he'll gain for next season.

No disrespect to Matt Simms, he's one tough S.O.B, but Tyler Bray is the future of Tennessee football and a thouroughbred at the quarterback position.

I agree, however I'm not sure we'll win all four games. Bray will give us the best chance at winning though, I'm sure. Best part about going down the stretch here is, for all intents and purposes this team has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Starting Bray was a great move by the coaching staff. The last 4 games will be a good training ground for Bray and will give him the experience needed to have a strong start next season. Bray is the future of our program and unfortuantely Simms is becoming aware of it. He could leave the program if Bray plays well for us on a consistent basis and we win out the rest of the year.:)

Eligibility issues will keep Simms at UT. Plus, I wouldn't count Simms out -- there will be a point in the next 18 months (either b/c Bray melts down or gets hurt) where we will need Simms to come in and win a game.

Bray is promising and has a chance to be great in years to come, but he will not be the difference if we are to win our last four games. Defensive and offensive line play will be the key to finishing strong.

Simms will go to a FCS school because he wants to play and not sit on the bench which is what is going to happen unless Bray just does something crazy like lose to Memphis (aint going to happen).

One play at a time, one game at a time. This is a process. It's good to be optimistic but we have to follow Dooley's lead as fans and stay in the moment. We can't look ahead. This team hasn't won a game since September. Go Vols! One play at a time, do it well, and the results will come.

Simms played against Alabama,Gators,S.Carolina,Georgia,Oregon,LSU and beat Martin and UAB, Bray gets Memphis,Ole Miss, Vandy,Kentucky. I know Bray is the future but everyone needs to get off Simms back on this. As young at this O-line is no QB is going to do anything against what Simms played against. Go VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say he played great against LSU, Martin, and UAB. Alabama, Florida(you could say he played decent), and South Carolina not so much.

Last week, we used the middle of the field to throw the ball, when Bray was playing. You rarely ever saw passes over the middle from Simms when he played, with the exception of a short safety valve pass to the tight end.

It will be interesting to see if we start challenging the safeties over the middle more often as we play out our last few games.

What Tyler Bray does for the offense is open up the deep ball a new aspect to the game with any frequency at least. I have disregarded every stated opinion posted or published that has tried too convince every one that Simms has a better arm or as good an arm as Bray. It just isn't true. (Look for the flutter or floater ball to not be a factor as well). And you know what it's not even close. I base this on what I saw at the orange and white game and since. Once this kid gets to rolling watch out.

I think Bray will be fine and should be able to hold onto the job for the remaining 4 games. Just curious if he comes out today and throws 4 INT's and we squeak by Memphis on our running game....is everyone calling for Simms or do you just say "I can't wait for Worley to get here"? :eek:lol:

Exactly right. and that was probably how Dooley envisioned it if Simms and the offense wasnt doing much at this point in the season. Our offense ranks in the bottom of the FBS in just about every category.

It is what it is, blame or no blame on Simms, the offense as a whole isnt getting it done and the first position they will switch is QB.

In my opinion this was his plan from the beginning if we went down this path, to switch them after the October gauntlet. He inesrted Bray in a couple games to get his feet wet and now he is turning him loose.

The offense needs a shot in the arm, and the only thing that will do it at this point is a QB change and our Freshman QB has a lot more talent and "pocket presents" than Simms. At least Dooley and Chaney are doing something about it now.

And it was clear in each and every one of those games that Simms couldn't get the ball in the end zone and Bray should have been given the keys to the Ugo. (No, I don't like using multiple QBs, but when one doesn't get it done, try another.) Bray may have been atrocious for a game or two, but he would be sharp by now (and probably by the LSU game). (I hate to say it, but LK --Darkseid-- would've picked Bray in the Orange and White game and milked some great performances out of him this year. I've never seen anybody handle a QB better than he did Crompton.)

I'd like to see us win out and I think Bray gives us the best chance to do that but I'd honestly be happy with 3 out of 4
