Here's what I find funny...

Dooleys 3 stars are choosing UT over schools like UCF, FIU, Nevada, East Carolina, ect. Kiffins 3 stars had offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, & Oklahoma before choosing UT. Tennessee will be lucky to land a class in the top 30.

Could get lucky and have them blow up later and get offers from big schools. I think that's sort of what's happened with Cameron Clear this year. The last staff I believe had the same thing with Michael Taylor, just couldn't hold onto him in the end. Point is, these guys may end up more highly regarding before it's all said and done. Another good thing is these guys have all been in positions of need.

All I've got to say ( First post, btw)

Although the rating of Tennessee's 5 commited players is not very high, to believe that they are WAC-Caliber players isn't fair. To better determine why this is true, let's take a look a each individual commitment.

Reminds of bringing Nickell Robey up out of nowhere

Robey said he was going to wherever Kiffin was in an article. Considering Kiffin was recruiting him here, and people argue about what Kiffin's class would've looked like if he was still here, I thought I'd share it. I'm sorry you didn't approve of it though.

You're giving him hell for something similar. That's all I'm saying. Man, everyone's on edge during the offseason

Just not true. Per Kiffin -- Lamaison had 0 BCS offers; Bray had 0 BCS offers; Daniel Hood had 0 BCS offers; Simms had 0 BCS offers; Fugate & Irvin had 0 BCS offers at the time they were offered by us; Jose Jose was a bust waiting to happen; and we focused a lot of early energy on a lot of unlikely-to-make-it-in players.

By contrast, per Dooley -- Posey has offers from Clemson, LSU, and a half-dozen BCS schools; Randolph has offers UGA, South Carolina, Va Tech, and a half-dozen BCS schools; Smith has offers from known BCS programs with great RB traditions/talent evaluations like Pitt, Wisconsin & Utah.

This is another case of the name of the coach framing/filtering the information rather than letting the information itself dictating the conclusion.

The way you pick and choose anecdotal evidence that is consistent with your agenda while ignoring any that is inconsistent is the best way to persuade an uneducated audience (e.g. an audience ignorant of the inconsistencies). However, to those who are educated, a post like this shows that you're either intently deceitful or ignorant of the above reality.

If you want to be objective and persuasive with an educated audience, you need to present both sides of an argument and not just the side that favors your view.

Kiffin signs 11 3* players in his first class and everyone on here calls them diamonds in the rough. Dooley has 4 for this class that are bound to be bumped in ratings according to recruiting service contributors, but they are all "WAC players". Think about it.

Oh and we initially took commits from Fat Jose and Broussard. They turned out to be world beaters also.

Kiffin Sheep = Naive and Easily Deceived by Hype

I agree with you but isn't that what 96.35% of the people on this board do?

Yes, that's why I chose that post to point it out. :)

Seriously, though. You are correct on the board assessment, and probably internet banter, in general, on other boards. I just wish it were a bit more open and we could abandon the advocacy system. There are few 'fair and balanced' posters.

I would take it step further and say the majority of the people in America maybe the world are that way. I wish more people could see the both sides of a debate. You learn more that way.

You are basically griping about ppl griping, they are entitled to thier opinion, I like what DD has done bit I'm not gonna lie we better sign some 4 & 5 * guys.
