Here's what I can't seem to understand

What I can't seem to understand is that it took some fans 3 whole years to realize Dooley was the worst head football coach in the history of humanity.

Some people were still defending him a month after he had been fired.

What we will be able to understand about this team AND coaching staff is;
If we go 2-2, 3-1, or 4-0 during the stretch can they finish the season beat up and battered WITHOUT losing to lesser opponents!
11-1, we are comin for ya AGAIN in the SECCG ....... A&M!

So you've shared about 12 opinions and ideas per year since joining? Haha just messing with you.

yeah..its true, I'm a lurker and don't profess to be a football guru. So, I read a lot on here about it and enjoy it. I graduated from UT in 91 and never missed a home game in my 4 years there and traveled to a lot of the away games when I could afford it. I love my vols and take daily abuse down here in central Florida ( because I wear my UT gear). *sidenote, I met travis Henry at my doctors office about two weeks ago due to my UT gear. Evidently he lives in Florida now.

Soon We will hear that Appy should be in the playoffs

Soon, many will think that you are a poor excuse for a fan....wait...already happened. If we lose this year, I just hope and pray that you don't beat your dog. However, based on the level of common decency demonstrated in your posts I fear that it remains a realistic possibility.

I am really glad we are 2-0 but as another poster said will we be a championship team in a few weeks not likely. We have to many issues to fix this season. It is not like one or two players need to get better the line is what it is, and may get a tad bit better. Our offense is more predictable than anything I know of. You can basically tell what we are going to do on every play by who is in the game. If I can see that so can a good DC and we are easily stopped. Nothing is smooth about or offense at all. Championship teams are good from game 1. I still don't think we are a top 25 team to be honest.

Yep. Championship teams are good from game 1. Like two years ago when Ohio State whipped Va Tech at home with their offense humming all game. Oh...wait...

It's simple. Some of us are thankful that were 2-0 but not happy with the way we looked getting there. I don't know why anybody would be happy about the way we've played. You'd have to be blind and deaf not to notice the real struggles we've had beating average teams.

I think it's more people mad we are 2-0 and sound like they'd rather burn the program down to prove that they were right about butch, debord, and azzianni. Hell I saw a "not impressed with shoop" post the other day. 2games and people ready with pitchforks. That's insane thinking

I have to be honest...there for a little while, I was ready to start a "we want Jansek back" chant at Bristol. lol. but I still have high hopes for shoop.

Snake oil salesman? Knows he's a bad coach? I don't get to see all of his interviews, so I may be out of the loop, but what makes you think this?

Butch came in here saying things like he was going to bring in the best staff in America. He then hired almost all the coaches he had worked with at Cinci and gave them huge raises. His former OC left to be a QB coach. His former DC was fired (not for his poor performance, but for an off the field incident) and is a corner back's coach at a G5 school. He said he was shocked by all the top names that wanted to interview for the OC position, then hires a friend who had been out of coaching for years. He keeps ZA on staff and has promoted him even tho the WRs underperform every year and Butch even said he would work with them before UGA week. The OL has been horrible almost every year and the coach remains. He refuses to hire a good QB coach even tho that is arguably the most important position on the field.

He has blamed youth for the past 3 years and now that he can't use that excuse the team still looks weak and unprepared. He blames execution before admitting bad play calls. He has called out the people who said Worley was being used in a zone read offense even tho those people include former players and reporters who have covered cfb for years. He refuses to make in game adjustments on offense and has even said he doesn't make them. He goes into a conservative mode when he gets a lead leading to multiple losses.

He allowed a very questionable culture to exist in the football program. When he and the other coaches gave a press conference about the Title IX allegations he brought up how other coaches were using it against us in recruiting, which wasn't the time or the place for that. His high ranking recruiting classes were largely based on the number signed and not high individual rankings, we will see this more in the 2017 class since it has a ton of projects.

He reminds me of Ron Zook, a coach that is committed to his system even when proven that it doesn't work. Zook had ok/good years at UF but since he followed Spurrier they weren't good enough. Butch followed the worst coach in the history of UT so his ok looks good in comparison. If he had followed Fulmer then I honestly believe he would have been fired after 3 years.

No we want. The transitive property does not work in college football. They may play great or they may get blown out. It really doesn't matter. On that particular day, App State played a great game. Just like Nicolls and UGA, they played a great game but no one expects them to win many games does that mean they are on the same level as UGA if another opponent blows them out.

One of the most logical posts in this thread. However App St plays the rest of the year is completely irrelevant when taking our game with them into context.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. In regards to Henry, I assume he was at the Drs for another paternity test? 😉

I'm with you on the staffing, I had never heard of any of them until they were introduced and had to be told who he was(I thought he was the other Butch).

If you are referring to the alleged "rape" culture, it didn't exist, so nothing was allowed. The restraint he used, considering what he was being accused of was above average.

I respect his effort to redshirt JD, even tho it was a major blunder and put us a year behind.

The in game adjustments worked against us going conservative when he should have kept the pressure on the other team, both offense and defense(OU, Fl, and AR).

Youth and depth have been issues. This is the first year I would say we have stay fresh depth but not injury depth.

Like you said the jury is still out on recruiting.

I'm sure if offered the job back in 2009, we could be in better shape. He would not have ran off Boyd(I hope).

I'm still at a wait and see, next time we lose it's gonna get ugly, unless I get what I want and that's a 20+ win streak, then he may be ok after all.

could be...lol...he was a really nice guy though. I didn't know him at first, he approached me. we were talking and he quizzed me on some things and I figured out that he was Henry. I looked up his picture after we spoke just to make sure it was him. Again, he was really nice.

Love to have a 97 Nebraska vs mizzou happen when we play Bama, with us on winning side talk about luck in that game

the week before we play Vandy well be 11-0, won every game by a touchdown, and people will still be upset. 2-0 is what matters as long as that continues to grow.

Exactly. I remember 1998 and how some folks slobbered all thru the season and then woke up the next morning after Florida State Championship game, rubbed their eyes and said "YOU Mean TO Tell ME WE WON THE NATIONAL Championship??? No way. Because we barely beat Hogs, Syracuse, etc. Surely we didn't win it did we???
