Here's Bray's passing against Cincy. Time, Drop, Result and Pressure(if any). After seeing how fast Tyler gets the ball off, it will be difficult for Florida to sack him because he makes decisions quickly. Twenty-nine of his 41 passes were thrown in less than three seconds. Eighteen passes were thrown in less than two seconds (1 Mississippi,2 Missis it's gone). When a QB is doing this, you will have to blitz him to get pressure on him, and if Bray is blitzed he is likely to make you pay heavily because he sees the field so well and his accuracy and timing on throwing slants is so good. Cincy pressured Bray five times. Florida will do that in the first quarter. Furthermore, I don't see Florida's small, young corners being able to press and muscle-up, thus hindering our receivers from getting off the line of scrimmage.

Nice that will be the most telling item for us on O, can Bray avoid whatever pressure do they bump the receivers with consistency.

Wow, interesting to see that the longer he has, the less efficient he is. At a glance, it seem most incompletions came when he was at 3+ seconds.

Very interesting. On paper we look very hard to stop, its hard to get pressure on a QB in under 3 seconds unless there is a blitz... and if they blitz someone is going to be open most likely.

Excellent!

Out of morbid curiosity, any stats on how long Simms held the ball last year against uf? Especially since they had 6 sacks. Mentally have blocked those out, but I think a quick release for him was about 6 seconds. Also interested to compare how much time our 2010 line was able to give Simms.

Thanks for all your posts!

There's been a whole lot more posting about our offense v their defense than the opposite. It's a lot more fun to talk about your strengths than weaknesses but still...a little concerning to me.

These are great stats to see.. I really do not think Florida nor much of the media understand how hard it is going to be to stop our guys this year.

Also it feels extremely good to have an offense this potent, and I really think it will stay that way for a very long time.. after bray graduates we have worley coming in right behind him, just need a couple new receivers to come in and start learning from hunter/rogers and it is possible we could control the east for a few years at least.

It all starts tomorrow :)

Likely because he made his progressions and found nobody open. He rolled out to try to buy more time and just threw it away. We weren't running deep routes save for a (very borderline) flag route that ended up as a TD to Hunter.

If Florida blitzes expect a lot of quick, underneath passes to Lane, Poole, Rogers (both) and/or the TEs. The biggest parts of the game will be:

1) OL ability to buy 3 seconds for Bray to make his reads and get the ball off.
2) Bray's ability to read the defense and get the ball off within 3.5 seconds. I.E. on a 5 step drop that ball should be out at the 5th step. Not letting Swamp get to him.
3) WRs being aggressive. Bray will make bad throws and the WRs can't just be idle. Be a CB. Block on the Perimeter for Poole and Lane. Huge size advantage here.

Also, as long as the defense can contain Demps/Rainey and we don't make egregious turnovers (i.e. giving them a short field) we'll be fine. I honestly don't know if their offense will be able to make multiple sustained drives against us.

There's little doubt UT will move the ball on UF. The question is will UF be able to overcome their woes on offense, and actually get 7 points inside the redzone instead of 3?

This will be where the game is won or lost Saturday. After watching UF play, I don't think this is something they can turn on and off at will, and I don't see it happening against Wilcox's D this weekend.

Special teams and D scoring are UF's strengths. I just don't believe this UT team will give up those kind of scores. This isn't going to be a special teams battle, UT actually has a consistent offense this year.

2 young teams playing tomorrow. This is about the future, not the past. UF fans know it, and they are hoping their D can stop our offense. There hasn't been a lot said about Poole, but his role will be key in sustaining drives and keeping UF's O off of the field. This is something UT has never been able to do against UF in recent years. Look for things to change this year.

FXVOL from TOS. Good stuff.

Rexvol,
Why don't you just paste a link with a note that that the info is from a pay site or at least summarize the information. Brent does a great job with the site and deserves to make a living IMO. The site could get additional members and the content would even get better. I have no issues with summarizing information but to simply cut and paste is fundamentally wrong IMO. Think of it this way - if all the information in General Quarters (articles, etc.) was available to everyone for free why would anyone pay? If the author of the information wishes to post it on this site - great! If this was originally posted on some other free site, I sincerely apologize for my rant.
GoVols - big day tomorrow!

Your quick, nothing gets by you. Its because Cincy actually had good coverage a few times.

With all the talk about how UT receivers have gotten good at "finding the soft spot in zones", you would think that there would be someone to throw it to after 3 seconds. Just sayin.

So why isn't Brent paying FXVOL? FXVOL obviously went through a lot of work to break down each pass and provided that information, for free, to VQ. Hubbs is basically benefiting from other people's work for free.

FXVOL did a great job with those stats and deserves to make a better living than what he already has IMO. FXVOL should get 75% of the income generated by ad traffic because he was the creator of that topic. This goes for every thread creator.

FXVOL can obviously post his information anywhere. It is his information. He may be delighted that it was copied and pasted directly into this site. I don't know but that's not the point. IMO it is wrong for someone else to copy/paste information directly from a pay site to a free site. I think Brent and the folks at Volquest do a great job and paid members help support that effort. I would hate to see that decline because the same content is simply pasted by members on every free site.

If every day I copied and pasted every thread and every article from the pay portion of Volquest to this or any other site do you think it would be right? If not, why is copying one right? This is JMO.

Who is to say Rex didn't PM FXVOL and say "can I post this on VN?" It is his information, as you said.

If it's a pay site and it's information that they admins, writers for VQ provide... that's one thing. Since this was information generated by a paying member of the forum and not a paid article... it's fair game.

FXVOL should still get a cut since you're so adamant about making everything fair and giving everyone their financial cut for generating content.
