Here's a stat for you

The loses are a problem. The bigger problem is that they're ALWAYS blow outs
Agreed, and it being a nationally televised game at 3:30 is a recipe for further humiliation.
Hoping we can surprise someone and keep it from being a blowout.

Pretty meaningless stat in reality. Even General Neyland would go 0-6 against those teams given what we started with in '18.
Butch didn't inherit much either. Last year Pruitt lost games he had no business losing and this year, in year 3 appears to be more of the same. We should be able to out talent Kentucky in spite of ourselves every Saturday forever, but it was painfully obvious who the better coached team was.

What Butch Jones began with is no different than what Pruitt started with. Derek Dooley left the cupboards baren. Remember how we didnt even recruit offensive linemen? And Butcha faced some of the toughest UT schedules ever when he was having to endure playing Oregon and Oklahoma out of conference while Pruitt was losing to Georgia State and West Virginia and BYU. At this point it aint even close in my mind. Butch had us in a better place.

And we’re not much stronger if any that’s your difference
No we still suck. The difference in point spread is what I’m talking about. Reason why Pruitts is so much higher is because Florida and Georgia are ranked top 5-10. They weren’t back then, they have improved while we have stayed the same. If dobbs wasn’t here for Butch Jones, I’d see the ppgs being identical if not worse than Pruitts.

I could not disagree with this more

Make no mistake I’m down with Pruitt way more than I would be with Butch. However Butch did take over for Doofy.

I highly doubt either “started” in a good place, with a loaded roster.

You know we are going to play light out this weekend don't you? Just like last year, we will be hanging around in the 4th quarter close enough to strike and then Boom! JG strikes again. And then it's an off-week and we we win out the rest of the season until we get to FL and lose by 50. This team is Jekyll-Hyde.

This is exactly the problem. While other schools hired coaches that immediately improved their teams, UT hired Derek Dooley 3.0 and here we are, no better off than we were 10 years ago. Literally no better. It was 10 years ago that we lost to Kentucky for the first time in forever and was the death bell for Dooley. And here we are in the same boat again. Breaking records that ought never be broken.

Wishful thinking with JG as Qb. HB or BM ? Who knows?
