How can you say Dormady has an advantage between the ears? We haven't seen him get the opportuinty to make decisions in a full game situation. He may end up being a good decision maker but as of yet he hasn't proven anything about his decision making.

I think we can agree Quick decisions aren't necessarily good decisions.

I do agree his speed isn't the issue, straight ahead speed. We will have to wait and see how elusive he is in the pocket during a pass rush.

Are you advocating Dormady to start now? or just as a future reference?

So that was an interesting read and it's apparent Longo has put some thought into his scheme and approach.

I can see where a WR would easily want to play in that scheme as they would be getting all the skills they need for the next level. Not really sure on RB that wasn't covered but in the NFL the RB is really deemphasized in the current game (don't tell Zeke Elliot that though). But how do you attract top talent QBs. At the next level they are going to have to make the reads he isn't forcing them to make now. So that's a built in developmental problem isn't it? And frankly that isn't an issue SHSU has to worry about with the talent they are trying to recruit. But if you can work thru that it would seem great.

The guy has the pedigree if Leech and Kingsbury would endorse him. Leech and Kingsbury can put points on the board with a RB on crutches and the WRs in walkers

To be honest there aren't that many Power 5 schools running the Pro Style anymore. Not many big time schools for the best high school QBs to choose run that run a Pro Style offense. There are still some though. Florida, Michigan, and Alabama to name a few. Bama has began to incorporate more spread concepts especially with Hurts at QB.

All this talk of injuries....and they truly have devastated this team for real...at the end of the day nobody is giving Butch a break for that. You either win or you suck. Plain and simple. That's just the way it is. No mercy in the high stakes world of big time college football. I DO give Butch some slack for the injuries..but everyone HATES losing and every little thing gets exposed when you lose.

Butch can be blamed for not recruiting enough depth. It's harsh...but that's why he's being paid what he's being paid. HC in the SEC...especially at a school with such an active fan base, alumni, booster contingent as Tennessee....is NOT EASY. You win...or hit the road.

As harsh as that is, Butch knew what he was getting into. That includes hiring the right coaches.

Now. Right now. You have been posting all year how Dobbs is the second coming of Christ..now that he has about 20 interceptions and has left absolutely no doubt that he can't hit the broad side of a barn....are you still in complete denial? Is it still everyone's fault but his? When we pass for 50 yards per half and the defense blitzes every single down and puts 7 or 8 men in the box because there is absolutely no threat of them getting torched over the top by a QB with the arm of a 10 year old girl....are you still sold on Dobbs? Is everyone else regardless of their skin color still automatically a racist in your eyes because they want a QB who can actually do his job...which is to throw the ball? Have AL and Jesse given you any new talking points or are you still playing the ever tired victim card because Dobbs is black? Both my little sisters are black, i am currently helping put 1 of them through college...and i can be absolutely certain that for myself and probably 99% of the posters here the reason we don't want Dobbs as our QB has absolutely nothing to do with the melanin in his skin. It's because HE CAN'T THROW A FOOTBALL. WHICH IS HIS JOB. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL.

Nailed it KB. It doesn't matter who we have coaching. These whiney asses are going to strut about like they did something when we win, and set up a guillotine in front of the rock and cry, "Off with his head." with every loss or less than perfect season.

And why is that? Because they are immature brats who got put in time out instead of seeing the back side of a wood shed. I remember a time if twerps like that got their jaws rattled, it was considered well deserved. I miss the good ole days.

It's obvious that the players and parents read this board and post, probably even some of the football staff. The last thing that we need right now is speculation on coaches with 4 games left in the season.

I'm going to say this and shut up. Last year Debord was a genius with his 15 ( more or less) scripted plays which we started fast and got conservative. Now we start slow in every game but finish strong and bring home the W. While we were winning Coach Jones was better than slice bread, but after the SC game... FIRE HIS A$$!!!!!! Our fans kill me.

Horse $hit. Players made stupid mistakes. Dobbs (who I enjoy watching play) played his worst game at UT, and made mistake after mistake. Play calling was suspect but execution was TERRIBLE. Blaming Jones is easy, but you have to lay the blame solely on execution for 90% of the plays. Defense also arm tackled or was out of position on so many plays which we have had some this year but not to this degree.

Wow you need to lay off the coffee, and get your facts straight. I never said Dobbs was the second coming of anyone especially My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Your post added nothing of relevance to my comment. I simple said we can't guarantee that Dormady will be better than Dobbs. He has shown nothing that would give us the assurance we need to start him over Dobbs.

WE aren't just giving up and playing for next year, if that were the case it wouldn't be Dormady I would see playing anyway, but that's another debate.

Dobbs is our best chance to win out. like it or not. He's a winner despite any lack of skill set you say he has. Hes won alot of games for us over his career.

False argument. Most Big 12 teams overall don't have SEC talent and the coach isn't playing. Doesn't mean the coach isn't a great fit at an SEC school. Doesn't take much to be better than Debord, but as you were....
