Dooley is officially a Vol. One of us. No matter what or who people thought was best for our program prior to this afternoon, we now have a head coach.

I am happy to hear his humility and embracing of tradition. He's proven himself as a recruiter and has tutored under a National Champion coach. Honestly, he's a breath of fresh air after the past year.

I will welcome him with open arms and hope for a great tenure at our great University.

Who's with me?

That's what the football team really, really needs.

I'm withholding judgment... good or bad. He's got a lot to prove. Having some experience helps, but he's got to hit the ground running. I wish him the best. We need it.

He's going to be here for at least a year, so we might as well get behind the man.

I'm in "wait and see" mode. He gave a great press conference, but that doesn't win championships. How he performs on the recruiting trail with NSD looming will go a long way in determining which side of the fence I start out on.

Patricia Ireland is a UT grad. I think Marion Barry is, too. Let's all get behind them in their endeavors.

I'm in. I cursed the hire as much as anybody; I was in as much disbelief as anybody that a LA Tech coach who just went 4-8 is as good as we could get. But this is our guy now. You can either start off miserable and bitter and hate everything about the next few years, or you can at least give the guy the benefit of the doubt, and be optimistic, and look for the postives as long as you can. Don't hang the guy because he's a failure on paper; at least wait until he's a failure on the field before you crucify him.

We've had years of being divided into two armed shouting camps over our football coaches: first over Fulmer, then over Kiffin. It would be nice if, for awhile at least, most of us could get behind the new guy. It's no more irrational than rooting for sports teams to begin with. Suspension of disbelief, people.

So your going to wait until he succeeds before you like him, or your going to wait until he fails to hate him?

Way to go out on a limb there guy...part of being a fan is having faith, take the plunge, the waters warm.

Go Vols!!!

Well technically his failure on paper is due to his failure on the field. But, I know what you're saying. Hopefully his career is about to take off, and we're in for a great ride. I hope at least.
