Everytime and i mean everytime i bet on UT i end up losing and i am not exagerating. so I am going to bet on Florida this year and i wouldnt mind it if i lost lots of money as long we beat them..but seriously i really do beleive we will be alot better and really surprise people this year like bama did last year..maybe i am biased but i really think we will surprise everyone..if we just had an average offense last year we could've came away with 9 maybe 10 wins.thats just average offense. I know 100% we will be better and possibly better than average this year and with some of the main key players on other teams that are gone gives us an even better chance of beating them this year.I am dead serious that we can beat any team we play if we play smashmouth Tennessee football

So have you considered that you could bet on UF and they win but don't cover?

I like the thoughts and I certainly won't ever bet against the Vols either but....it's a tough challenge. Living in Florida I certainly hope for the best!

I remember watching the long field goal back in the day for the win against UF, well both!! As much as I would like to see it, I have my doubts. Any given Saturday though right? App St. did work over Mich and no one saw that coming!

It's what I do.:p

We all hope to win. Very few of us expect to win.

I am with you. I have gut feeling that our defense will give UF all they can handle. What makes me nervous is our FG unit. Lincoln will be the difference (fingers crossed) in most our wins.

I had a dream last night that we played Florida and Crompton started the first play then we brought in one of the recruiting hostesses and the Florida players didn't know what to do and she was throwing dip 'n duck passes the whole game. Yet I believe I remember us still losing.

Ya know, us beating FL there this year is not likely, but let me ask you this ...

What if we had in the game (thru injuries or whatever) a couple athletic true freshmen like Myles, JJ or Greg King, and they hadn't yet learned that they were supposed to lose to FL, and supposin -- with the football being such an odd crazy-bouncin thing -- that they returned 2 turnovers for scores early in the game ... wouldn't that get FL to doubting a little bit, that this just might not be their day? I think it would get them doubting and us believing. Its not always the most talented team on paper that wins.

Well, we saw with last year that turnovers are the reason Old Miss beat them. So along with your statement I think the only way we get a chance is through turnovers and turning them into points.

It's a known fact as far back as the Majors era Tennessee is one of the worst teams against the spread in College Football real gamblers avoid them like the plague ....

But if there's any gator fans that wanna spot me that 45 they've been talkin bout puttin on us I'm all ears

I'm hoping to get 20-30 points when I place my bets in Vegas! With some late TDs, UT can beat that spread and I'll cash in!!!

If the spread stays at 4 touchdowns bet the house on tennessee. If it gets down around 3 i wouldn't touch it.

Fulmer wasn't concerned with the spread----just get a 10 pt lead and sit on it. We all know how that worked out---Fla--06. I expect Kiffin's teams to play till the gun sounds; therefore----Put anything you want on UT--30? vs WKU. Prediction---TN--49---WK--6. :good!:

Scenarios where Tennessee can beat Florida:

Florida is -3 in turnovers for the game.
Tim Tebow is injured before and/or during the game.
Tennessee sacks Florida QB's 5 or more times.
Tennessee blocks a punt.

Outside of some of these things happening, Tennessee is not going to beat Florida in Gainesville in 2009. 3rd offense in 3 years, new coaching staff, average players, and Florida's best team in years does not = a good situation for the Vols.

Agree on all counts. We'll also need to shorten the game and limit positions as much as possible, while making the most of the possessions we do have.

Do you believe the hype about tebow being under center and trying to establish a power run game this season?

That would be to our benefit if they do.

Why do you think, just because they'll be implementing something new and possibly not have all the kinks worked out?

Personally I think we'll do better against spread offenses than straight up smash mouth football. Seems like our defense is built more for speed than power.
