1) Coaching - I like the group of coaches we have but still question what happens on the field too many times. We look extremely vanilla on defense and we abandon the run really quick on offense. I am just trying to figure out what exactly we are trying to do on both sides of the ball.

2) QB - We have a QB ladies and gentlemen. With everything that went wrong yesterday, Bray still impressed me and made some bigtime throws and through three games is sitting at 10 TD and 2 Int. The atmosphere didn't seem to bother him and that will be key for us down the road. Having a calm presence in the huddle will spread to the other guys and we will mature quickly as an offense with that attitude.

3) RB - It is clear that the staff feels Lane is a gamebreaker. Why else would he be getting all the snaps once we went down? Why do we abandon the run so quick? We have got to find some sort of balance.

4) WR - Now is the time to get others involved and build depth and experience. Arnett impressed me. Rogers will need to be a leader. We need another gamechanger. Hello Mr. Patterson!

5) OLine - How can a team pass block so well and run block so terrible? Despite what some may think, I believe we gave Bray solid protection. A few runs stuffed in the first quarter and we threw the run playbook in the trash. We are terrible and run blocking and we have a few weeks to correct it before our brutal schedule begins. FIX IT!!!

6) TE - Good not great. So bland that I can't think of anything to write.

7) DLine - Have got to have pressure. It's what we all expected from them. We are not SEC quality up front and we have got to somehow figure out how to lure recruits to The Hill.

8) LB - Guys had a rough day yesterday. You could tell we had freshmen out there. We won't see speed like that again this year but they weren't in the same area code on some of their coverages.

9) DB - I still think we have a solid group back there. Tackling could be better but did you see Florida WR's catching many passes? They play well but with no pass rush, its hard to cover for as long as the QB is getting to throw.

Kickers - Terrible. Worst I have seen and thats taking Lincoln into consideration. I just do not understand how we can be this bad at kicking.

Overall - I still think we are a good team that can get to 7 wins, 8 with a bowl game victory. The bye week comes at a good time because we have a lot of areas to coach up. Being in the Swamp atmosphere was good for our guys and a learning experience. We need to work on getting our young receivers in step with Bray and we have got to find a running game. On defense, we have got to get crazy with some schemes. I thought this was what Wilcox was known for? We look very vanilla right now.

We will be ok. Losing Hunter broke my heart but you gotta move forward.

I feel better now after writing this. Off weeks suck. Next week will be boring.

7 wins will be hard to get this season..we don't have the wow factor at all. I hate to see a player Like Lane catch the TD pass and strutt around like he did when he really hasn't shown anything..I think Pool is better. We are not recruiting LB's and D-line for the SEC I guess we want Boise State little quick D-line , and Big Strong LB's

We abandon the run cause we can't do it! We kept getting negative yards or 1 yd. Our line couldn't block

UT has a lot of talent gaps and has some coaching issues at a few positions. 7 wins is probably likely but hopefully they get 8 somehow.

In regards to WRs stepping up, I think we will see that now... before yesterday everyone knew it was the hunter and da'rick show and the spots were filled... now there's some playing time to go get.

As far as Wilcox and the crazy schemes.... like you said, we're blowing coverage on the basic vanilla, I don't think they can grasp wilcoxs playbook quite yet

I felt the coaches spent too much time trying to establish the run in the first half. It's pretty hard to get a running game going, with the opposing d-line in your backfield all day. This O-line is just overmatched against top shelf SEC talent at this stage of their development.I say stick with what works, throw the ball down the field, and maybe open up some running lanes late in the game

The run game opens up the passing game not vice versa- we must figure out how to run the ball effectively. Dooley has said this numerous times.

1) coaching - i like the group of coaches we have but still question what happens on the field too many times. We look extremely vanilla on defense and we abandon the run really quick on offense. I am just trying to figure out what exactly we are trying to do on both sides of the ball. we look vanilla on d because we are still very young. We have 4 freshman starting on d, and a bunch of sophomores.

2) qb - we have a qb ladies and gentlemen. With everything that went wrong yesterday, bray still impressed me and made some bigtime throws and through three games is sitting at 10 td and 2 int. The atmosphere didn't seem to bother him and that will be key for us down the road. Having a calm presence in the huddle will spread to the other guys and we will mature quickly as an offense with that attitude. he never got rattled. He looked good even though he lost his number 1 target.

3) rb - it is clear that the staff feels lane is a gamebreaker. Why else would he be getting all the snaps once we went down? Why do we abandon the run so quick? We have got to find some sort of balance.we abandoned the run because we were averaging less than 2 yards per carry. Poole should not be starting the rest of the season. If the only excuse is poole knowing pass protection you can throw that excuse out the window, because he missed just about every block.

4) wr - now is the time to get others involved and build depth and experience. Arnett impressed me. Rogers will need to be a leader. We need another gamechanger. Hello mr. Patterson! arnett should get the nod over zach rogers. Zach just isn't any good. He plays like a girl.

Fix it!!! it seems to me that our ol waits for the dl to engage them on run plays instead of pushing them backwards.

6) te - good not great. So bland that i can't think of anything to write. rivera looked good, but dropped a pass. We have more depth next year.

7) dline - have got to have pressure. It's what we all expected from them. We are not sec quality up front and we have got to somehow figure out how to lure recruits to the hill. we're still young at dl. Malik jackson is the lone sr when martin isn't playing, and martin is hampered by injuries to both legs.

8) lb - guys had a rough day yesterday. You could tell we had freshmen out there. We won't see speed like that again this year but they weren't in the same area code on some of their coverages. austin johnson looked great and bad depending on the play. The two freshman made freshman mistakes. Have to expect that in their first away game of their career. They'll learn.

9) db - i still think we have a solid group back there. Tackling could be better but did you see florida wr's catching many passes? They play well but with no pass rush, its hard to cover for as long as the qb is getting to throw. teague played very well. Lanier had some nice plays as well. Again, we are very green back there and can only get better.

kickers - terrible. Worst i have seen and thats taking lincoln into consideration. I just do not understand how we can be this bad at kicking. palardy should never be allowed to punt again. He has a slow release. Darr should be punting from here on out. Palardy had some nice kick offs, but his fg's were lacking. If he makes that first fg we only need a td to tie it and we probably don't go for 2 and could have been going for a td to win it.

overall - i still think we are a good team that can get to 7 wins, 8 with a bowl game victory. The bye week comes at a good time because we have a lot of areas to coach up. I hate to admit it, but vandy might play us tough. Our o-line is probably 9th in the sec and our linebackers and special teams are maybe worse. 6-6 is looking very likely. Hopefuly hunter is ok...we need all the help we can get.

We have talent but not the upperclassmen talent in the two deep roster to compete with fl, bama, lsu. 75% of our two deep is a freshman or sophmore. Theres not a senior on this team that leaves big shoes to fill.

I somewhat disagree...Malik Jackson is a sr who is pretty good.

Stop making too much of Vandy winning vs Ole Miss yesterday. Ole Miss is terrible and their offense is giving Kentucky a run for worst in the conference. Vandy will come back to reality very soon. Their success so far is a product of their schedule.

Methinks the Patriots, Packers (current) and Colts would disagree with that statement.

Using the run to set up the passing game USED to be the case but with the ultra-fast WRs and precision passing of the modern game, it is more often an effective passing game that loosens up a defense and allows the running game to work.

The offensive line still has to do its job in either case and therein lies the real source of Tennessee's problems.
