Here is what I know right now

This team might get skunked in conference play. When Tennessee is in the SEC basement with a fifth year coach, the AD must act. jmho

When butch took over-the program was in a dumpster fire!! He has us moving in the right direction, he's been building the program back-brick by brick. We would be undefeated this year if not for injuries, butch is a great family man-and a super-duper nice guy, give him a chance, we'll be back on top, if not next year in a couple more......
So Dooley was doing better! Lol butch has us in better spot than Dooley ever dreamed and I'm not saying we don't need change but Butch put in work and now it's up to powers that be to salvage the bricks and get a master brick layer no BLUE FONT

Ummm, okay. Dooley was doing a really, really, really bad job, therefore; we should be happy with butch, who is doing a just an ordinary bad job!
If how Dooley "Coached" our team is the new standard by which all future coaches are going to be measured by, we are in worse trouble than I thought.:hi:

You’re five years late with that speech. Fire Butch now!

  • UCLA felt the same way about Jim Mora
  • Illinois felt the same way about Lovie Smith
  • Michigan feels the same way about John Harbaugh - however, they are starting to get more any more unhappy by his results in against MSU and OSU (1-4)

Why do you put so much faith in a guy who hasn't coach in 10 years and has not been in college coaching in 30 years?

We are not UCLA.
We are not Illinois.
John Harbaugh coaches the Ravens.

Take the gun out of your mouth. Gruden can fix this.

Folks get over the belief Jon Gruden is going to be hired and will become our new savior. HE will not be hired. Get over it and move on. There may or may not be a new coach. I suspect Butch will be retained another year regardless of the outcome at the end of the season. If I was hiring I would go after Dan Mullen and his complete staff. But of course I don't make decisions for UT.

Wasting your effort man. Wildasamink16 sees making it to a middling bowl game every year as a successful season, and was still championing Butch Jones up until yesterday when he realized that Butch wasn't going to make it to a bowl game this year.

Glad you aren’t doing the hiring then.

You're giving this guy false hope Jon Gruden does not want to come to the University of Tennessee, nor does Peyton Manning or anyone connected with the NFL. Sorry Toughlove.

About 1/2 way thru your post I was saying way to go. A little common sense here. Gruden ain"t coming. He was fired at Tampa anyway, never coached in college. However, I would take him as a QB coach. I disagree about the future of Butch. If he is not gone by end of the season, I feel the heat would be be in the thermonuclear range. He's gone.

Butch is gone soon, if not at the end of the Mizz game, certainly by end of the season. Currie is working behind the scenes for us. He can't tell everybody in a press conference who his choices are right now. Is that what people here on VN honestly think he should do? After "The Firing" he can make an announcement, but only if he's hired someone. We've got a rough several weeks ahead of us. Get off Currie's back. If he hires an up & comer with a losing record, like Hamilton did, then give him hell, like I will.

I thought Miami was in with them -- guess not anymore

No there not! Just like any, 1 right hire and the problem is solved. Unfortunately sometimes you go through 3-4 before you get it right!
Hopefully UT will get it right this time

Tennessee will never, in my lifetime, be the team I knew as a kid and dare I say National Champs! The heart has stopped beating 😢

My dad has been a Vol fan his entire life. He is 61. The other day he said, "Ya know, Im 61 and we've won one national championship in my life time. Why does every one expect to win all the time?" He's right. I don't get it either. There's more to life. People need to stop obsessing over UT football. Its not a big deal. I promise. Its fun and passionate but geez step away from the ledge. This isn't a "lets settle for mediocrity" comment either. I want Tennessee football to be great. But if they aren't, it really is ok.

They looked good against Va Tech. I watched some of that game Sat. night and folks were having a ball in Coral Gables. Richt has really helped them find their way. Now it's UT's time.

See Miami two years ago, see Notre Dame five years ago, see USC a few years, see Nebraska now, see Alabama Shula days...... Dude come on, our fanbase is like a broke, depressed, divorced, middle aged man with 6 children with no hope. It's pathetic

Now,at this moment, forced to agree but the man gonna hit the lottery, find him a hot little filly, buy a yacht, and sail off into the sunset and all will be well....SOOOOON!!!!!!!

Oh WOW! Vegas says JG is going to be our next coach. That's why vegas makes money so people cough it up on propaganda. Whatever man. At least Gruden was honest when he said he would have any program on probation not longer after he was hired. I'll give him cred for that.

Two anti- Gruden posts in a row and you just joined a few days ago.......hmmmmn.

Here's what I know right now, my left foot hurts, I am about to order some Barro's pizza (and probably some wings too), and that Tennessee football sucks.

Check in a little later for an update to what I'll know then.

What I know....a sack of flour will make a big biscuit!!!:eek:lol:
