I just don’t see wins coming on a consistent basis. Heard something yesterday about how it would take years and years of Top 5 recruiting classes to even try to get us in the same ballpark as Bama, Georgia etc on a consistent basis
Agree.See, this is where I digress. Great coaches and great leaders get so much more out of the players who no one wanted, the diamond in the rough players and the picked through talent. They work hard, develop talent and make it happen. Skoal can could have great success at alabammer because the hard work was already halfway done for him. He had 5 stars hot and ready 3 and 4 deep at every position waiting for the next man up. He doesn't have what it takes to assemble a staff and lead a program to success on his own.
Coalescing should be second nature, but some people have to pee in their own punch. We all see it at work or in the family. If true, and it is believable, clean house. Every rower off-count gets thrown overboard.Did anyone hear Chris Low on 99.1 the Animal today? He was discussing the perception of UT Football amongst other coaches and programs. Words like disorganized, disfunctional gets throw around. Mentioned he was down at Bama doing interviews and someone close to Pruitt asked him if it’s as bad it looks and he said someone said “oh it’s worse.”
he also said the toxic atmosphere is why big name coaches have little interest in Tennessee, says there’s way too many egos within the program and no one is on the same page. Lastly he said that if you to the most successful programs they all have great continuity, communication and everyone is working towards making that program better (basically everyone is on the same page). He said none of that is going on at Tennessee and it’s a turnoff and other coaches use it against Tennessee in recruiting.
Couldn’t agree more with this statement. ^See, this is where I digress. Fulmer knows when Pruitt goes he is not far behind. Fulmer loves the Vols but self preservation is #1 for Phil. Once the decision escalates beyond Phil and the boosters and admin align on money, the chord is pulled. Pruitt out first then Phil later. Phil knows this.
My two cents.
It certainly seems obstacle is either nailing the for cause termination due to investigation or finding booster help on $$$. Otherwise, we may be forced to stomach year 4 of cornbread.
Sounds like you have an inside tract? Care to hint at how you know this? I want to believe...Yes it is an open post. It is not good, what is going on right now. It is a definite situation where no one seems to know what they are doing. It's a circus and will be a miracle if we're not searching for a coach on Monday. . . (ps. Pruitt lied to compliance officers. . . Merry Christmas.)
That’s what I heard a guest say on Finebaum yesterday. Didn’t catch his name.Did anyone hear Chris Low on 99.1 the Animal today? Jeb Gruden. From Valdosta. Jon's 5th cousin, twice removed
It takes more signatures than just Fulmer’s to execute the contract so no that can’t happen. Remember the Schiano fiasco and the signatures involved there.Well if half the rumors are true I think it’ll have to be the other way around. Fire Fulmer and then once the new AD is in place you fire Pruitt and let the new AD hire the coach.
You give Fulmer the lame duck, walking dead hire and he’s likely to go scorched earth on the program and pay some HS JV coach $100mil/10yrs with almost no cheap outs on the contract.
