Sorry but all you fire Pruitt in hopes of a better future, you people are living in an Orange dreamland. Get a top notch coach, really? How many times do I have hear that @#4*? What top notch coach is available and what top notch coach would what to come here? None is the answer after to this. Kiffen (could have been but he was a young jacka$$ with a great staff), Dooley the lawyer, BJ the great salesman with the inability to follow through, Pruitt well do not know but he did get rid of BJ's awful offense and back to UT traditional offense. This is a unusual year with 10 sec games (very tough). It was a bust year due to not having the QB play and a defense that is young and not really for a SEC only schedule. I am not defending Pruitt but I do not believe attempting to get a new coach is the answer either but just another set back for the program. Auburn fired their coach again and is now in the same cycle we are in and not being able to get a coach. I have been a UT fan since a boy in the 1960s and a season ticket holder since 1985. There is not a Johnny Majors with the toughness and the love of UT football out there to rebuild our program. Coach Majors built a Iowa St program, took Pitt from nowhere to a NC, and then came to UT and would have had a NC if Chuck Webb had not blown out his knee in the Pacific game. Coach Fulmer, a great OL coach, took a program over that was strong, was a great recruiter, added a few Rodney Garner recruits, and got lucky (winning a NC has some luck such as the fumble and OSU losing late in the season). If you are going to fire Pruitt, get someone that loves UT football but it will not be a top notch coach. Names? Dale Jones, Condredge Holloway. David Cutcliff, Chief, or Peyton Manning (but why would he do it) and allow them to hire talented assistant coaches like Coach Majors did. I hope that Pruitt gets another year. I rolled my season ticket money to next year due to health concerns but after next year, I seriously may end my season tickers and donation. A new coach will not change my mind but a winning Pruitt team next year will.
