Some get talent and performance mixed up. Talent is nothing but ability. Performance is related to preparation. Idk why some people expect performance without preparation.
From the games last year, it looked like Mauer had a much quicker release and didn’t stare down his receivers. I think I’d give him more chances than JG at this point. JG just takes too long on his decision making which is probably his biggest hang up.what happened to those “rare” abilities you said Maurer has? Bailey has had much less development than Maurer and he looks better already. I respect your continued adherence to this false narrative that Maurer is this super talented QB that is so much better than JG. The fact is he isn’t.

Please explain how Bailey looks better already? Has he passed for over 200 yards against one of the best defenses in college football yet? Has he even faced a top team? Did he not have 4 passing opportunities vs UK with 3 incomplete passes and one of those being very nearly picked? Was Arkansas not in a prevent defense this past weekend and giving him an underneath RB for an easy pitch and catch? Did he not throw 2 ints in his first 10 collegiate attempts?what happened to those “rare” abilities you said Maurer has? Bailey has had much less development than Maurer and he looks better already. I’m pretty much all in on Bailey also, however, with any young kid you need to be careful. You can destroy his confidence by putting him in a situation that is way more than he could handle. In fact, I think that is what the coaches have been doing. But, maybe they need to speed up the process a little. If he’s a strong kid, he can handle the setbacks.I would go with Bailey from here on out.
He was 46.7% period.See.... that’s the stat you can’t argue because of your bias. In his starts he was 54%. For the season (including garbage time) he was 46.7%. Bo Nix was prepared to play in every game and was 56%. JG was 59% being prepared to play in every game. BM threw downfield while JG checked down to reach 59%.
You’re not even worth debating. Your bias has you brainwashedHe was 46.7% period.
He threw way more screens than JG and short passes. There are actual stats.
JG was top three in ypa for the SEC.
I know you have a hard time with reality and BM.
Seems like you hitched your wagon to him and hope he will some how start your "qb coaching" career by having a good college qb. Probably time to find another kid to ride.
JG is better than Maurer
Maybe. But I find it hard to believe that if Maurer was much better that he would not have proven it and separated himself. Maurer isn’t better. It’s just wishful thinking by fans because JG sucks. Stats say Maurer is worse.
You post that as if JG and the rest of the QBs have been given the same opportunities and development; they haven't
They get zero first-team reps in practice because JG needs every single pass to try to improve. They gets near zero in-game snaps unless the game gets out of hand and Pruitt has no choice but to chuck one of the other QBs into the game.
If Maurer and Bailey are smart, they transfer out and add their names to the growing list of QBs that Pruitt has ran off that went on to find success at other programs.
Man you are on a role...Maurer and Shrout aren’t good. Stats prove it. You can spout whatever you want. Obviously you and some other fans know more than our coaches. But for some reason neithe Shrout not Maurer can take the opportunity in practice, where it is much much easier, to show they are more talented. They obviously haven’t. This isn’t any defense for JG. It’s just fact. If either one was better then they would have taken the starting job.
Man you are on a role...
If your on practice round of golf, you got a par 5 that you might be able to reach but your not sure....do you try???? Hell yes it's practice...so in practice you what you don't want your is QB checking down unless its an absolute last options, other wise you need to see if they can fit the tight window....but now the aggressiveness is being coached out of our QBs....and it shows
