Here’s the thing not many people probably want to hear

By that logic what does that make Saban then? I swear some of the comments on this board daily is mind boggling.
Saban would not have the record he has without all the talent on the teams he coached. Saban is a much better coach than Kirby. But, to imply talent is not a major factor in wins is insane. The true gauge of a coach is can he get the most out of what he has to work with. I would love to see what CJH could do with four deep 5* talent and a 5* water boy like Bama and GA have had for years.

First thing I thought after the game - I love Josh, but he handled the game closing FG situation hideously. If you're going to run one more play to center the ball (a good move IMO), then he should have run the play even after the false start. Have some damn faith in your offense to execute the play!

Joey centers it, you call time out, and everything is done in rhythm, which is way more important in a pressure spot like that than the yardage - we were well in Max's range. Instead, he delays, then just sends him out with everything rushed. That kick reeked of Max being completely out of rhythm. That kid isn't a choker - this one was on Josh.

I thought the exact same thing. I posted my comment before I read yours. There is no guarantee that he makes it even then, and there were a bunch of things that happened during the game that could have changed the outcome, but I believe that is what cost us the game.

People don't understand the rarity of how many yards we put up on a Kirby Smart defense. It's the most memorable offensive effort any team has had against them in three years.

Tennessee is very good.
Only problem is GA scored more points than UT.

I don't understand why we didn't try to center the ball on the 25 after the false start. If it made sense to do that when we were on the 20, why not from the 25?

That's my entire point. The plan was to center it, the distance wasn't an issue, why not stick to the plan after the penalty? Josh showed little faith in his offense, and took the FG team out of rhythm by rushing them out there. Yes, Max missed the kick, but just like putting, kicking is as much about rhythm and routine as anything else.

I’m happy with where the program was is. Losing always sucks but we are clearly among the best teams in the country. One made FG away from a W.

I wonder if he got confused about the time remaining? They didn't reset the game clock right away and maybe he thought there wasn't enough time to run the play again.

No you don't. Go ahead and admit you like watching us lose. Your posts are generally negative and are geared as to why we will lose
Glad you know everything. I hate watching us lose, I'm just a realistic fan. I'm not a sunshine pumper. Also, most honest fans had us losing at least 3 games , that doesn't make us negative. But thank you for the kind words.

I did not see the end of the, only got reports. It seemed to take forever to play that minute. It appeared that Heupel was trying to burn as much clock as possible, so Stockton would not have time to do anything. I am afraid this says a lot about his opinion of our defense.

This. It’s literally the first SEC game and we had every chance to outright win it. It’s a long season, and our team just went toe to toe with the program that has dominated college football for the better part of the last 4 years.
Also probably the best team in the conference.

4-16 over the last 20 years against UGA. I'm tired of being the thorn. Either find the people who can turn this team into the dagger that gets thrust into the heart of opposing teams or gtfo.....
Ga nor Ala would hire clown Presidents like Tennessee did that de-emphasized football. They’d never hire Derek Dooley, Butch Jones or Jeremy Pruitt either

Saban did the same thing plenty of times. Smart has done the same thing plenty of times. Brent Key did the same thing yesterday and won the game. This isn’t just Heupel going conservative, this is the way a lot of great coaches close out games vs tough oppenents.

Now don’t get me wrong the coaches did plenty to lose this game as well but that can be said of almost any staff in any game. Heupel put his team in position to win against one of the best programs in college football and we didn’t execute properly.

We’re a pretty damn good football team.

Georgia is a damn good team probably a top five team in the country. They have one of the best coaches in the country if not the best coach right now. Despise all the complaints from fans the scheme was good enough to win, our execution just wasn’t. We’re going to get healthy and be a thorn in the ass for anyone else we play this year.

+1 for Ass Thorn.

I DO want to hear this and totally agree. We could have won this game and should have quite candidly. If we can use this as a seed of motivation, win the games we should and go steal one from Bama on their field we are a one-loss, top ten team and likely in the SEC championship.

Is that likely? No, but it is absolutely possible if we play to our potential. The team showed us yesterday that we can win every game on the schedule, now we just need to do it.

Which was exactly the correct thing to do. Saban wishes he’d ran the clock down in 2022.

Yeah that's great. But it'd be nice to be more than the "thorn in someone's ass" for once in twenty years.
we haven't been that the past twenty years. We've been an after thought if even that. This is the most relevant we have been since I was 8.

This is going to be a very fun season. If we play like we did today we likely see the playoffs and have the talent and QB to make a deeper run than last year. We are on pace and moving in the right direction. You love to see it!!

Just a little bit too much of a gap in the talent still. I know that is going to change pretty quick. This team played great today not great enough to win has evident but they were toe to toe with UGA. The 4th and 6 TD killed us. I can remember when UT was the thorn in pretty much every SEC teams side at least the ones not named UF.
