Herbstreit coming after us

Well, so much for me feeling good about Currie keeping things quiet. I thought this guy understood the definition of vetting. Now, I am really POed about not getting Blackburn.

Is this the same guy who got a HC fired because he didn't like the way his son was treated at a practice? Something about a concussion and being locked in a shed because he couldn't practice? My memory right?

Where's your indignation over what happened at PSU, Kirk? Do you honestly believe that anyone on that staff, or in that facility, didn't know that there was just something wrong about Jerry Sandusky?

You like Schiano? You trust him? Wonderful. Hire him to babysit your grandkids. No place for him or his ilk at UT.

Unlike you, we value all kids. Not just our own.

Go Vols.

Mr. Herbstriet is very talented and I like watching him on College Game Day. However, he is just trying to protect his alma mater from being labeled. Sorry,Kirk cant support the hiring of Schiano just because he currently coaches at OSU. His name is tainted and what UT needs right now is a coach to be the foundation and build us back up to prominence not burn it further into the ground.

Somebody get on twitter and ask Herby if we are so unjust, why are we hearing reports that OSU students are starting to protest him now that they have learned of his history?

He called tn fans trash. At the National Championship his broadcast was drowned out by the chants of "trash is good" Fond memories of better times.

Herbstreit is right to call out all the goobers who are embarrassing the university with their idiotic Schiano meltdown.

Apparently, there are a bunch of us goobers in Tennessee. Fans, alums, former players, legislators, and so on.

Personally, I've never been prouder to be called a "goober".

Go Vols.

Backlash of the backlash. I don't think anyone was expecting this to create such a strong rift of emotion. The campus is in an uproar. We have state reps on twitter condemning it. The freaking White House Press Secretary even weighed in on it.

This is an ugly, ugly situation. I'm sure Herby is just going to bat for his buddy, but methinks he is probably tone deaf as to why there is such a backlash in the first place. Dude is on twitter talking about records when it is much, much bigger than football.
The guy that said our player should of been kicked off the team for flipping off the Bama crowd

If you are talking about Mike Leach getting fired at Texas Tech? That was Craig James from SMU.

Herbbie knows this can easily boomerang back on osu and is trying to put the bones back into the closet.

I'll have to wait and see how this goes. Looks like the deal is off and that's probably a good thing.

I thought goobers were from Georgia. I reject that label in favor of "hillbilly".

Herbie is confusing legal standards of prosecution and admissibility for TRUTH. Unless Schiano has passed an FBI-administered polygraph, I'm not willing to take the risk that McQueary isn't lying. I know this...there is no way McQueary misremembered what Tom Bradley told him about what Schiano told him. Somebody is lying. I find it very odd that Bradley and Schiano did not file slander law suits against McQueary. If McQueary wasn't told what he claims, then he manufactured a slanderous lie. There is no way in the world that I wouldn't sue someone who slandered me thusly.

I'm proud that Vol Nation stood up to this. I don't want any part of that Penn State mess. And I don't give a damn if Herbie, Urbie, and the others don't like it.

The thing is, it doesn't matter if GS knew or not. The court documents said he did and he's done absolutely zero things of substance to prove them otherwise. You can hide that in the NFL where they let abusers run wild. You can do that as a DC where no one knows your face. You can't do that as an HC in the Bible belt and not expect every school to use it against you in recruiting. Herbie isn't a southerner. He doesn't get it.

These media idiots have no clue. This is UT. I don’t care if the guy is the next Saban. If he doesn’t pass the smell test from a 5 second google search we don’t want him. Period.

Petrino is a decent coach and he doesn’t pass the smell test either

This has nothing to do with Gruden not being the next coach either, this is about morals and integrity. If ESPN morons like Herbstreit can’t see that he can get the F out of our state where he lives and move to Ohio or Pennsylvania where they apparently don’t mind it

Would anybody blast UTK for hiring the coach who was responsible for recruiting Brett Farve?

He's right. You all read some keywords then didn't use any brains to think any further. None of us know schiano's situation, what he saw, who he told. He's no rapist or one who condones it...but what he was, is probably the best coach we could have hoped for.

BS there is literally an article out there that says Currie supposedly thought about Matt Campbell but didn't want to pay the buyout.

Sounds to me like someone doesn't want to spend money AGAIN, and thought the fans would get behind any shmuck they put out there.

Man was he wrong.
