Herbstreit coming after us

The Washington Post Knows

That does not implicate him let alone convict him of covering up a rape. The testimony is based on second hand conversation. Schiano said he didn't see anything. We have already convicted a man and have the pitchforks out via ignorant imaginations.

Shut up.

I swear you spend all day on the LV board giving Holly hell (rightfully so) but you're ok with a coach who has a .500 record as a college HC with accusations that he enabled child rape at PSU? FOH, dude.

anything, you moron. What, do you think everybody in the Pa. State athletic department should have resigned because there was talk that Sandusky was a creep? Lose their jobs? The world doesn't work that way. Assistant football coaches are just that--they are not the morality police. Any responsibility started way up the ladder--with JoePa. Stop embarrassing the university with your fake morality. Bunch of goobers--same people who were perfectly fine voting for Trump, who was caught on tape bragging about molesting women. Good grief: As if all the childishness about Gruden wasn't bad enough.

Bunch of keyboard jockeys think they should run the athletic department now. You don't like the hire, don't go to the freakin' games.

Herbstreit is right to call out all the goobers who are embarrassing the university with their idiotic Schiano meltdown.

Yep. If he had two national championships, everybody would be saying how little evidence there is he knew anything.

Someone is under oath stating Schiano told someone he saw what happened and never mentioned it again. Regardless if it really happened or not, that's not baggage I want anywhere near this program. There's no way of knowing one way or another, so why take the chance? He certainly isn't a proven HC, so his coaching pedigree doesn't come close to outweighing the baggage. It's a bad hire even without the accusations.

I actually agree with you on this and actually talked about this on Twitter today, except I used Roy Moore as an example. But I didn't vote for Trump, so, you can shove your "fake morality" comment where the sun don't shine. And actually it sounds like you should be looking in the mirror. Don't be talking about Trump when it sounds like you're pretty much saying people who weren't Sandusky's superiors had zero obligation to report what was going on.

He's right. You all read some keywords then didn't use any brains to think any further. None of us know schiano's situation, what he saw, who he told. He's no rapist or one who condones it...but what he was, is probably the best coach we could have hoped for.

You are kidding right? Best coach we could hope for? college coaching record of 68-67. I can name coaches we could get that are much better, Les Miles much better record and he is available, Norvelle at Memphis, i am sure we could get him. Tn wants more than to just make a bowl game. Hoke is a better hire. Sumlin would be a better hire.

Mr. Herbstriet is very talented and I like watching him on College Game Day. However, he is just trying to protect his alma mater from being labeled. Sorry,Kirk cant support the hiring of Schiano just because he currently coaches at OSU. His name is tainted and what UT needs right now is a coach to be the foundation and build us back up to prominence not burn it further into the ground.

Trump talked about it and Clinton did it. Same here, Sandusky did it and Schiano talked about it.

You're a smart guy Kirk. Surely you know, that we know that we have been down for a number of years now, and are now at rock bottom. That is why we want the best possible coach we can get and not this clown Schiano.

I agree in principal. If we can get Ga and Clemson to agree not to bring it up in recruiting, it will be fine. Sadly, it is baggage that will weigh him down. Why would the University want to voluntarily take on that baggage, unfair as it may be?

This is family business. If we want KH’s opinion, we’ll ask for it.

You're right, this is family business. But the problem with the business is the family is named Haslam. Doug Mathews inferred as much this (Sunday) morning on his weekly Sunday morning radio show on 104.5 out of Nashville.

Herbstreit thinks this is all about winning and losing GAMES? I'd rather go 0-12 every year for a decade than bring in Sandusky's butt buddy no matter how many games and championships Schiano would've won. Hell, Sandusky has a lot of championship rings but I wouldn't want him either if he ever got out on parole. I don't care how well these creeps can coach. It's just a game. Herbstreit's priorities are screwed up.

Peyton Manning helped broker the deal to get Schiano according to Hubbs on The Nation tonight. Peyton is covered in Haslime too. He can just stay away as well. We don't need need pedofiles or their enablers in Tennessee.

If Meyer gets "sick" again, I'll bet big money Osu don't hire Schiano to replace him.

Of course Kirkie boy is against our not wanting Schiano; it’s not about whether or not he is a good coach, it’s about whether or not he’s a good person. Obviously OSU was happy to take the good coach and did not care about the person. We chose to demand a good person regardless of his coaching ability. How does that make Ohio State look? And Kirkie by his ties to his school? Yep, they’ve been shown up...class vs trash. We may lose football games, but at least we don’t stoop to wallow in trash...Kirkie obviously is a great wallower.
