Hendrix and Scott

Volnation just needs to stay positive and encourage both guys to stick around as they go through tough times. Remember folks these guys are not from the state of Tenn and are away from home and that's hard on some kids as a youngster. I would say to Scott and Hendrix, always, JUST DO MORE THAN YOU DO DID YESTERDAY and it will all get better and brighter days will come your way!! The kids need to remember that the coaches may be hard on them, but its only to the kids benefit to make then a more mature mentally and physical strong person......

I can't stop chuckling at that one.

Not doubting you, but is there somewhere to read about it?

A poster on volquest is related to Malone. Pretty much passed that along. Believe what you want though. Malone has been worked into the gameplan and been targeted several times, he knows he is an important future part of this offense. He has also had some big drops and mental errors. The kid will pull it together but he had to work through this on his own. Malone had hosted several recruits that have come in to visit ut as well. That should tell you that cbj sees Malone as being a part of this team for the future.

Hendrix leaving would be a significant setback for d line depth. I don't care if people think he's "recruited over." You dont want to have to replace experienced players with true freshman. Barnette is a special player and an exception to that rule.

I can buy Scott not sticking around. He hasn't been healthy and Kamara will really eat up his carries next year and the year after. If he wants to be the man, then UT might not be the place for him.

I don't see any way Hendrix has "been recruited over". Too many guys who cover the team have said he actually has more physical talent than Barnett, just not the maturity and intangibles as a freshman. We desperately need to hang onto this kid.

I said that the same thing and I got hammered for it. About him being more talented then Barnett. He is.

Always hate to lose talented players but especially D-lineman with the talent of Hendrix. Offense can win games, but defense wins championships! I am hoping for dominance like the days of the Minister of D and Big John!!! I hope he stays...

I agree he is, but only because so many who are close to or cover the program have consistently said so. Sounds like he'll be a beast with time and the natural maturity that will take place. We need him in the program.

Hendrix, dear Hendrix! Your confidence is dying! Your light is growing faint, and if it goes out that mean you'll drop out. You think...you think that, that what Hendrix? That you could get confident again? If Volnation believed in you? Do you believe Volnation? On please, please believe! If you believe, wherever you are, clap and he'll hear you. Clap, clap! Don't let Hendrix quit! Clap! Clap!

I got the following from "Neyland News" off Facebook via Twitter so TIFWIW. Does anyone know GoFightWin and if this is a reliable source? This is interesting info, if it isn't just BS internet rumor...

Update on D.Scott and D.Hendrix from GoFightWin on VN. He works in or around UT athletics

"Got some info on both Hendrix and Scott. Today they both came into Thornton together. I asked a couple guys on the team what the deal is with them and got the same answer each time. Scott is upset that Butch made him do circle of life drill because he broke his hand doing it. Hendrix cleaned out his locker the other day and Big Charles and Barnett apparently are planning on talking to him sometime today to get him to stay. Looking like transfer for both is highly possible.

Sidenote - Pickett is more than likely going to be academically ineligible to participate in bowl game.
Sidenote - Malone is not giving effort in practice and receives constant criticism by staff. Highly doubtful that he transfers but the "Malone is upset" rumors are slightly true. Wouldn't worry about him transferring though.

Will try my best to keep you all updated with anything else I hear."

Try venturing to the recruiting forum. GFW is a legit poster with solid info. He's very tuned into recruiting and happenings from within based on his position.

Jeez. If this is true, Scott is a massive baby. He realizes that you can get hurt doing almost anything in football, and that the circle of life drill is probably a good deal less dangerous than regular full-contact practice?

And any word on what Hendrix's deal is? And why are people *just now* going to talk to him? How is it getting to twitter and VN before his teammates are taking action?

Having the high energy motor is a talent. Just like speed and strength. You can't develop it. It comes natural. Jmo

I'm not on the ledge one bit. I think it's funny that the folks who are Butch fans first and UT second praised the recruiting coups and now dismiss the losses because they didn't produce as true FR. It's comical.

But if you think we're fine at RB you're clueless.

While the loses hurt if they happen, what do you expect Butch to do? IF Scott is leaving because of being hurt during a contact drill then maybe we're not that worse off without him. I know we're thin at RB and I know it hurts but the kid is weak mentally if he's all butthurt about being injured in a circle of life drill.

Hendrix hurts. I have no idea what is going through that kid's head. He looked to have a great future once Maggitt left, IMHO. I would think Jones will do everything he can to hang onto him.

Scott? IDK how much effort you put into a kid that is always injured, misses a final, and is malcontent about being injured in a contact drill. As thin as RB is, addition by subtraction IMHO.

All of the above is assuming this crap we've heard is true.

You can't develop giving a better effort or improve your conditioning? Or for that matter better mental toughness?

Maybe it's someone with

You know, like that dream we all have where we walk into a classroom, and they're handing out blue books, and you realize that it's the final for a class that you forgot you registered for.

--do they still use blue books??

In that dream I am wearing only a t shirt and it's too short; but I hope no one notices.

Mizzou fan here. Not trying to stir any trouble in the least. Just wanted to share that we're getting rumors on our end that Hendrix might be trying to get to Mizzou. I have ZERO idea how'd that work with being in the same division. Maybe he goes to Juco for a year?

Not flaming, just sharing that the rumor.

Makes sense...unless Butch is magnanimous, he'll need to go the JUCO route...and not play for a year...if you want a full three years with him.

We're trying to figure out WHY the change. I know he's from O'Fallon, IL, so maybe he wants to be closer to home? 2 hour drive versus 5+ hours.

No one knows if this is even true...if so my guess would be a mixture of homesickness and understandable competitive envy of Barnett's outstanding freshman season. Maybe he feels he flourishes better in that Mizzou machine...especially after he saw it in action in Neyland. :dunno:
