Hendon Hooker "This is home for me"

I am guilty of not realizing how good he was while he was here. It’s great that he’s such a great ambassador for our school and embraces Knoxville as a home even though he was here for such a short time.
I am guilty of thinking when he was here that this wide open fast paced offense would become the standard at Tenn. But it went away when he left. I sure enjoyed watching him behind center when he was here.

Can he pray while making love to your BF or wife using your bed?? What if you found out he was praying to Satan?
Can we use the ‘what in tarnation’ jif again for this one? No idea where this is going but find it hard to believe a player humbly bowing in prayer before games is going to offend a lot of people or hurt anyone’s feelings.

The pass to Bru late to set up the field goal was as exciting as any in Tennessee history and I’ve been watching for 65 years.
If there is a picture of the word ‘clutch’ in the dictionary, that would be the picture to use.

A lot? Dunno. Offend? Does me. I'm an "anyone". Separation of church, state and sports or we set a very bad precedent. How do you know he was being humble? He could be laffing his arse off inside thinking "Rubes be thinkin'' I'm a prayin' when I'm thinking about beating the new Doom game".

Oh I’m sure you’re real offended…..🤦
Get a life and let people be who they want.
All the things in this world to be offended by and prayer is a trigger for you? I don’t believe that one bit.

For the most part, she usually limits herself to polluting the VN Politics forum on a constant basis.

Not really, just don't like sports icons who wore the O&W proselytizing for any religious belief.

Get a life and let people be who they want.

Obviously, Hooker is being exactly who he wants to be and so am I.

The number of cats you own has to be in the teens.

You may very well be the worst poster on here. Quite an accomplishment.

Hooker and anyone else can pray where they want. I’m sure he’s not concerned about some crazy anon poster on VN.

I think that’s part of why I took him a little bit for granted. I had seen him play at VT and I don’t think anyone was impressed and then came in and made it look easy.

I thought the same too, but it’s kind of refreshing to know that coach will adjust to match the strengths of the team/QB.

I think there are several factors at play. I think Hooker had the benefit of being in a brand new offense at Tennessee that teams were still adjusting to . We had a lot of guys running wide open and he threw a great deep ball. Teams have adjusted recently and those deep balls aren’t as available as they were in 21 and 22, but Milton and Nico weren’t accurate at all throwing downfield. I think why I said what I said was bc Hooker’s decision making and accuracy made the offense much better than it has been the last 2 seasons and he didn’t have a history of being as good as he ended up being, therefore a lot of credit went to Heupel and Golesch.

I’m gonna agree to disagree about Manning.
It’s one thing to say you didn’t see it coming, but not realizing it while it was happening is kind of perplexing

Milton has that shot until he actually plays. Hooker probably won’t get a chance unless he is forced into action. Sounds familiar.
Which on has played and won a NFL game?
Detroit went and brought in a retired player that was coaching Highschool or something instead of rolling with what they got and see if Hooker could be the next Brock Purdy.
I like Hooker but when I read other sport forums he doesn't get mentioned even for trade deals. He'll probably be a journeyman back up QB and nothing wrong with that and getting paid

We had several wide open receivers down field, they were just overthrown the last two years.
