I apologize for clogging the forum up with a new coaching thread but i've been out in god's country almost completely cut off from all sports for the past week so i'm trying to catch up on the moves.

I read the recruiting update over in the recruiting forum and was glad to see that we've managed to keep a lot of recruits intact.

Who, of our coaches before Kiffin left, are still intact and who has been added?

If this is already posted somewhere, please direct me. Thanks and Go Vols!

Go to utsports.com and click under coaches. I'ts a full update. We are retaining Chaney, Thompson, Garza and CDD has added Russell, Bagget and another I can't think of off hand. I'ts shaping up well. They all have good credentials for sure.

No problem. It's easier to do a seach and type in "coaches". It will take you right there. We got a huge pick up with Baggett as WR coach. He has coached some big name WR in the NFL who were very productive. Chambers, Carter, Freeman etc etc. He's proven. One of the new coaches either phillips or the other new one (dang I cant remember his name) got to go there again. Anyway, one of them was the Special Teams coach for Louisiana Tech who had a solid Special Teams under him and as you know, We desperately need some help with special teams. The only missing link now is our search for a Defensive Coordinator. Could be Lance Thompson being promoted or an outside guy. Have to wait and see. Go Vols!!!!!!

Just read the article about Baggett and it seems like a very solid pickup with some impressive names that he's coached in the past.

I was a little apprehensive about the Dooley hire, but i feel more comfortable now after reading up on him a bit more.

I'm on board with Dooley.

So am I fellow Vol. so am I! He's recruiting TX really hard right now and as you know TX has huge gets down there out of High School. Something we haven't done in the past. Dooley tried to get Kevin Steele, the DC out of Clemson and we thought we had him as of yesterday but Clemson have him a huge raise to stay. CDD is on the ball man and He's showing great commitment to U.T. and I feel really good about him. IMO, he is someone our players will be in good hands with and he's got a ton of experience under Nick Saban. Saban even called Hamilton to endorse him. That says a ton coming from Saban to a rival team. What impresses me most, is his judgement. I think he is very sound. Unlike LAME and company. You can go on govolsxtra.com and listen to his press conference in full. I really enjoyed it. Check it out and see what you think.

Quite frankly, when you look at the long list of outstanding receivers Baggett has coached at Michigan State and in the NFL, his resume looks every bit as impressive as Kippy Brown's. And that is saying a lot. Major, major coup for Dooley.

I was confused about something hoping someone could clear it up. I thought Cutcliffe didn't get the job because he wanted his own staff, but it looks like DD is bringing his own people in. What happened with that, did the ad concede this to DD when he wouldn't to cutcliffe?

I believe Cut wanted to bring his entire staff vs DD keeping a few members of the last staff (Thompson, Chaney, Garza) and adding in some of his own choices.

Yea, I believe he was wanting to bring onboard the whole DUKIE staff too. (WOW!!! That would have helped us) Plus he was wanting a large sum of money. Whewww. Wat a relief we did not get him. :clapping: Back to the same ol crap as it was under Foolmer. GO DOOLEY!!!!!

Has anyone heard or read how some of our big time recruits from the last class feel about this whole situation?

I.E. Brown, Jackson, etc?

Any thoughts of transferring elsewhere or anything?

They are staying. Bryce Brown and his family really like the hire in Dooley. That was great news when I heard it. JJ is staying more than likely too because he would have to sit out a year if he transferred. He stays with us then he'll possibly go pro after his junior year. He will return. Bryce is all Vol!!!:clapping:

I'm on board with Dooley.

I heard he had coached nine NFL WRs to 1,000 yd seasons, not bad.

Cutcliffe said he and his staff would stay together as a unit no matter where they were.

Some of Kiffin's staff went with him to So Cal and Kippy went to the Seatle Seahawks.

this was a HUGE hire by Dooley. Im happy for Coach Baggett. He is very well respected in the business, and this is a great step for him.

Im a little miffed about it because I would rather have him back at Michigan State, but maybe this is the step he needed to take to get there if something goes wrong with Dantonio.

You will not regret having Baggett on your staff. Ever.

Will make sure to stop up for spring ball just to see how he is doing.
