Help with my perceived depth chart...

I believe in the fall, WR will be more like:

WR: Taylor, Briscoe
WR: Rogers, Jones

But in 3 WR sets:

WR: Taylor, Paige
WR: Rogers, Jones
WR: Briscoe, Moore

Thats what I don't get about our receiving corp...

I'm not saying you're wrong...you're probably right...but why would we still chose experience over talent...

Jones, Paige and Moore appear to be way more talented than the other three with maybe the exception being Taylor so why chose experience over a chance break away plays...

And before anyone says it's a reliability issue...I'd bet a Buffalo nickel that Rogers dropped more passes than anyone last year...

And he had a serious knack for dropping passes at the worse times...like on 3rd and 8 when you can tell the other team is gaining momentum on us

He also caught more passes than anyone besides Taylor.

When I think about Rogers last year I always think about drops...he had some pretty horrible ones...

I know all WR's drop passes from time to time but he had a problem...

I don't think he's horrible...he just isn't steady enough to justify keeping the playmakers off the field in favor of him

There is more to talent than just being tall and fast.

Clawson says he's installed 70% of the offense (he's talking mostly about plays), but if it's personnel, those guys are the 30% I'm waiting to see.

Fulmer joked with Paige about being a wide-blocker, so he must be thinking he can do what Rogers did last year already. The next day, Paige caught 7! I agree there is more to talent than being tall and fast. Watch Paige this fall!

For what it's worth Willingham is no longer a starting CB. He had two picks Sat. from his saftey position. Rogan averaged almost 30 per KR; the best avg. since Dale Carter in 90. I wouldn't be surprised to see him starting (Rogan) at one of the corners. I also wouldn't be surprised to see G. Williams starting at MLB. He has two years of prep and JC experience at the position.

Willingham started at CB not safety.

I was a little worried for a moment there. Groves, what is our depth chart looking like for FS and SS? Are any of the DBs going to switch positions?

Vereen worked at safety today.

Rogan is versatile. He can play CB and either safety. If Ant Anderson keeps playing like he is, he'll see some PT.

Gaines is now a safety too.

Before I posted I double checked on Scout. They said he has moved to Safety.

According to Scout "in just his second scrimmage at SAFETY he intercepted two passes."

So it's looking like the probable backup safeties are Rogan, Gaines, and maybe Anthony Anderson. Does Vince Faison look like he will factor in this year?

I wish I was as optimistic as some of these posters about Gerald Williams, but I can't say that I see him being much of anything this year. Even if he did play JUCO (see brent schaeffer and kenny o'neal) there is a huge difference between getting a good ranking in JUCO and those from high school players... I hope I'm wrong, but can't expect him to come in and be 2nd string DE right now (ahead of Martin and Walker).

Also, what is the latest on walter fisher? How is he doing this spring? Another guy that was a top JUCO player. I hope he can contribute this year. Is he still at DE or have they tried to move him inside to DT?
