Long trip to risk not having tickets beforehand. I found myself in knoxville on game day intending to buy off the street and failed twice(both were last minute trips) . One time I only needed one, the other I needed 4 both were surprise sellouts. Buy before you fly!

Yeah, that's too big a trip not to have tickets in hand beforehand, not when you need four together. You don't want to waste your time beforehand looking for scalpers who have four together instead of watching the band, walking down at the river, etc. You can definitely save money by buying on the street before the game, but if it were me and I lived that far away and Neyland was that rare a trip, I'd just suck it up and buy tickets beforehand so I wouldn't have to think about it. Depends on how much you care about price. I almost always buy tickets on the street when I go to UT games, but when we played out at Cal a few years ago and I needed four seats, I paid out the arse on Stubhub before the trip just so I wouldn't have to deal with it on my vacation. Didn't regret it, even though I could almost certainly have saved some money by buying on the street. I spent my time drinking beer in Berkeley instead.

Decent chance that nosebleed seats will be available directly from utsports.com once the season starts. If that's okay, then wait to see if that happens.

The game will probably be at either 1 pm or 7 pm, so if you're driving up from a hotel in Atlanta, you're talking about either a really early morning or a really late night. If that's a problem, consider paying for a hotel out of pocket once the schedule comes out and you know what time the game is.

Definitely my thinking - I'm willing to pay more for the guaranteed 4 together ahead of time. Good idea about the nosebleeds - I can pick those up as my safety adn then try and upgrade on gameday.

We're going to drive up to Knoxville on Friday and stay the night so we can soak everything up on Saturday.

Prince George. Still have a foot of snow in my yard melting.

My parents live in Lethbridge, AB. They got about 30cm over the weekend and it's slowly melting.

Good luck planning the trip! Getting tickets to the game shouldn't be hard, and enjoy every minute, it's a heck of an experience!
