Hey guys. I have not had a gaming console since my PS2. I want to get a new one so that I can play NCAA 09. I'm not sure which one to get the PS3 or XBOX 360. I know that both have different hard drives and all that stuff. I'm not really interested in online gaming and I have a blu-ray player already so thats not really a determining factor. I just want to play games at night and on the weekends thats all nothing over the top. Which system has the better graphics? Which one is more user friendly? I have a HDTV so I was wanting to get a system that has a HDMI output. Thanks guys for any help you can give me.

xbox 360. better warranty coverage than Sony, hands down. I can buy a used 360, and as long as it's less than 3 years old, if I get the RROD (Red Ring of Doom) Microsoft will replace it with no questions asked and no receipt is required. My PS3 is just over a year old (by manufacture date) and the blu-ray drive is dead. Because I'm not the original owner and I don't have a receipt (I know the original owner and he no longer has the receipt), it would cost me at least $150 and upwards of 2 months to get a repaired or replacement system.

360. No question if you're happy with your BluRay player already. However, if you want a BluRay Live compatible player you should get a PS3.

Graphics between the two are pretty much identical.

All 360s now have HDMI ports. You can get crazy deals between now and xmas if you look around (cheapassgamer.com, anandtech.com, etc.).

I guess my biggest question is how you have a BluRay player now that isn't a PS3? It's pretty much the best one on the market since it's continually upgraded by Sony and until recently, the only one that LIVE compatible.

Well I don't have a blu-ray player I just have a HDMI cable from my dvd player to my HDTV. I don't watch many dvd's. Thats why I don't really care about the blu-ray.

I saw the arcade at Best Buy today but the one I saw only had a 256mb hard drive.

As I mentioned, the Arcade+20gig Harddrive+extra controller is a Black Friday deal at Circuit City.

I just saw that after clicking on the link you gave. Do you think that will be an in-store only item or can I order it on-line?

On the list given in the link you provide which store has the better deal? The deal at Circuit City or at Target or even the one K-Mart has shown? Don't you have to buy a pro or elite to get the HD cables?

We are giving a Wii to our kids for Christmas. Kids are Girl 8, Boy 6, and Girl 3. We have a PS2 and would like to possibly upgrade to a newer system. My son is becoming more interested in sports games. Is the 360 hands down better than the PS3 or is it more of a personal preference? Sony vs. Microsoft? American Company vs. Japanese Company? I guess my main question would be Why do you believe your game system is better than the competition? The Blu-Ray player built into the PS3 would not sway my decision.

If you and/or your kids ever have the desire to use the console online then the 360 is a 110% better. If you want a blu-ray player then the PS3 is the best value.

Pretty much the best deal going right now if you don't care about Kung-Fu Panda, Indy Lego, or standing in line in the cold on Black Friday.

If you would be playing games online then 360. Other than that it's 50/50 because you said bluray wouldn't sway you.
