Murfreesboro would my choice, but you have to remember it's a college town. Fairview is nice, but my god it's a thousand miles from no where. It also had the disadvantage of being the poor end of an affluent county.

Murfreesboro has a lot of energy. But it grew so fast that the infrastructure has had a hard time keeping up. The traffic was terrible for awhile. It has gotten better over the last couple of years. Too crowded for my taste

According to Forbes magazine, it is Tennessee's fastest growing major city and one of the fastest growing cities in the country. It is also ranked by Money magazine as the 84th best place to live in the United States.

If it were me, I'd drive to Knoxville and check out a the local stuff. Then, I'd get back in my car and drive West at least 2000 miles and look for a job. Go West, young man.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Maryville, yet. It has one of the best public school systems in the state. Several years ago, it was declared a top 10 place in the nation to live on some A&E list. It's a 30 minute drive to Knoxville, to see the Vawls. They have everything you could want in Maryville, but it's still a small town, so it's all a 5 minute drive away.

Move to Maryville, Rocky, and we'll go to some games together, hoe!

I love that part of TN. Dollywood is pretty close, Piegeon Forge, Gatlinburg, etc. It's amazing up there.

I grew up in Nashville. My wife and I considered moving back for a while and Franklin was #1 on our list by a mile

The last 12 have been Franklin and brentwood and I'm not going anywhere else.
