#13FSU is ranked ahead of #14LSU
#15Oregon State ahead of #16Oregon
#16Oregon ahead of #17 UCLA
The higher ranked team all won the head to head. They all have the same record.

#6 Bama ahead of #7 UT
What changed for the Bama and UT ranking?
This is no coincidence!!!!

LSU lost to a 4-7 team.
Otherwise they wouldn't have dropped that far. They've been ahead of FSU for most of the season despite losing to them

We lost bad...and we lost late.

Tulane is 10-2 ranked 18th
Kansas State is 9-3 ranked 10th

Tulane BEAT Kansas State in Manhattan earlier this year.
Make that make sense!

The CFP is ****. Need to have a playoff model that mimics the FCS. Do away with all the conference championship games and bowl games and have an actual field like the FCS. Take your top tier bowl games and implement them into the playoffs. Then you take away most of the controversy.

Can’t wait for the 12 team playoff, these committees are stupid and each league doesn’t use them, it’s division play, head to head etc to determine the team that goes to their championship. Maybe if it was a comparison to us and Penn State. Not as easy to give a final ranking, but when the comparison between to teams in the same league….Come on man!

Joe Milton is the starting QB now instead of a Heisman trophy finalist is what changed, and our defense has regressed significantly each week since that game outside of Kentucky. Bama is a better football team than us right now, and it’s not particularly close

UT getting boat raced by a mid level sec team, and Bama losing to us and LSU on the last play of the game. As much as I hate Bama when you take off your orange colored glasses it makes sense.

LSU had a better record than FSU until last week so thats why they were ranked higher. Although LSU's resume is far superior to FSU, they lost head to head and fell behind once they had the same record...

That's pure speculation to say that Bama is a better football team. We have the same record and we beat Bama head to head.

No, Hendon Hooker and Jalin Hyatt beat Bama head to head and with 1 of those no longer playing we wouldn’t stand a chance

We beat Vandy 56-0 with Joe in the rain and on the road.
Bama beats Vandy 52-3 in good weather with their Heisman QB at home.
Through 1 game we are just as good and offense didn’t miss a beat. Vandy had been playing good football last 3 weeks prior to us. They beat Florida, Kentucky and lost to USC I think by 8. Vandy has give up 50+ points all year to 4 teams UGA, Bama, Ole Miss and UT. UT and UGA only teams that shut Vandy out all year. Yes Vandy isn’t a powerhouse, but we played just as well as anyone against them this year.

28 of those points came from a punt return a 50 yard TD run and 2 80 yard TD runs. Our passing game outside of the deep ball on the opening drive was non existent and you’re not going to beat Bama by running the ball down their throat. Also I’m tired of hearing about the rain. Joe Milton isn’t the first QB to throw a wet football. When you’re in HS that might be an excuse, but in the SEC a wet football doesn’t make a QB play as poorly as he did

Getting blown out by a bad team with all the eyes on you late in the season is very damaging. Plus, the QB/MVP being out seals the deal. We are very fortunate to be at #7.
Those are all good reasons for the casual football fan or even some sportwriters, but it is not the stated criteria of a professional committee ranking for playoffs..

Exactly. The "criteria" is:
  • Strength of schedule
  • Head-to-head game results
  • Results vs. teams in Top 25 rankings
  • Results vs. common opponents
  • Conference championships
