It was said that news of Jones’ behavior would begin leaking once he’d been canned, and it appears that’s true. The bit about the Bible in recruiting reminds me of Freeze stories of him telling recruits he’d “pray for them” if they went to Miss. State.

To me, it sounds like the Helms's were sold a bill of goods by a fraud who pulled the wool over their eyes.

I, for one, appreciate the fact that his father had the wherewithal to understand that no one would care about his/believe his son's story while Butch was winning.

It's just further evidence that it's very likely that most of these alleged rumors we've heard over the past 5 years are probably closer to truth than fiction.

So some kids didnt like Jones and others did? Wow, thats some groundbreaking stuff there.

I especially like the part about "we know abuse is going on but we are not gonna do anything about it until someone else does", always love that

Talk about rewriting history.
Butch wasn't winning when Helm left.
Butch went 5-7 his first year. Helm left after his freshman season that required him beating Vandy just to be bowl eligible. Going 6-6 in the regular season.
That's winning?

A coach calling a player a ***** isn't good, but it's far from what this is being made into.

If you don't think that goes on in most every locker room in the country, then you are kidding yourself. Look no further than Military Boot Camp. Young impressionable kids will respond to being berated in the correct fashion. Sometimes you just have to piss them off. I don't think he had the guts to punch CBJ, maybe he did. All in all, glad Jones is gone. Strong on recruiting, very weak on improving.

I am so glad Butch Jones is gone. Jones is just another slimy used car salesman who real side came to light. I hope he never finds a job in coaching again.

This isn’t new. This is the same story being retold again and again.

Butch isn’t here because he didn’t achieve goals last year and bottomed out this year. He’s gone now which is what 99% of people wanted. It’s over.

When Fulmer was fired, his players almost rioted at the news at the press conference. Devastated. Lost to Wyoming strictly because of it. When Butch was fired none of that happened. Maybe I've missed it, but I have not heard one player even seem sad about it. That speaks volumes.

Maybe I'm just reading something into it that's not there, but this season I noticed when Butch came out on the field to "low five" players coming off the field, he got ignored more often than not. They seemed disinterested in playing along.

To be fair, there were some tweets that went out thanking Jones. But you are correct, nothing like Fulmer support when he was fired.

Several players tweeted shout outs to Jones. Just because you didn’t see it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. He was liked by more players than not.

Fulmer has former player haters too. Every coach does. Kamara didn’t care for Saban.

he called him a ***** or a vagina.......and that angered him so he wanted to assault the coach...i gotta admit, if this is the worst it gets, its laughable....feel sorry for the kid etc, but not much to see here. And dont use the whole christian thing on me, sounds like a bit of sour grapes....and im not jones apologist...
