Its about player development really. They also had great role players around a few superstars

That's why it's not entirely a black and white. UCONN's classes in 2010 and 2011 were top 15...... The 2012 class only had two players which is why it wasn't top 20..... The 2013 class doesn't appear as strong but still had a top 100 player.

I'm pretty sure CDT knows how important it is for UT to have a decent season or a better season than most would probably expect. The '15 and '16 recruits wil be watching as well. Most of these top recruits want to to be apart of winning programs or play for a coach who can assist them in development as player.

I don't say this to be a huge downer, but we will most likely have our worst season in 9 years.

I could see us being like Georgetown a few years back when they were young and Otto Porter was a freshmen. They were picked to finish near last in the Big east but surprised everyone, they were just really young. Our wing play will be so solid this year.

take note of the the team, bench and crowd when we jump into a press after taking a lead with a 3 instead of calling a timeout and letting the opponent regroup.
I can't wait to see it.
We are going to go down swinging if it is a big struggle.

I'm gonna be bold and say we place 4th in the sec and at least win one game in the sec tourney

It's not that we don't have talent, it's just the absurd amount of coach and player turnover that occurred. New system, new coach, new team, you just can't reasonably expect this squad to gel to the extent that all of the talent would be most effectively utilized. Plus, we're as weak as we've ever been in the PG and posts positions in that 9 year span.

When I say "worst season," I mean along the lines of 15-15, not 4-26.

No clue how we'll do in the SEC. Anything can happen, but I'd think somewhere between 5th and 8th.

As u can see, even though their last two classes may not have been ranked that they were built on the backs of top 100 talent.

Only 3/8 you listed were top 100, I wouldn't exactly consider that "built on the backs of top 100 talent".

I can see 15-15. I think that is the consensus of most. Most forum posters anyway.

If u watched them ever play u would know that boatright, daniels,and Napier did all their heavy lifting...they had some decent role players and a thin bench due to early graduation.

Absolutely, but 3/8 top 100 players is hardly evidence of your theory, you would lead everyone to believe overwhelming majority must be top 100 and classes top 20.

Not exactly....they had two out four classes top twenty with one of them was not bc they only had room for two kids. On the national championship team, they played three guys that did 75% or more of the work that was top 100 players. Two guys that were right outside the top 100....1 3 star project big man that they seem to have success with and two guys that don't count bc they weren't in the rating system....one was from overseas and one was a t/f.

But like I said it's just a guide to tell how u compare to other teams but strong recruiting is the backbone of any strong program. If CDT can't get it done then he will not be here long either.

That's your opinion. We aren't going to win many this year, but if we are playing with intensity, passion and aggressivemess, it's easier to watch for some of us because we respect the effort on the court and sidelines of an underdog and they got you out of your seat a few times. It's sports and entertainment. Not freaking life and death.
I gurantee you it''ll be more entertaining than 2.5 of the last 3 years of mediocre ball that kept fans from coming and many more fans than we can count just stopped flat out watching UT play. Yes he'll be judged on wins but if you are going down, swinging is the only way and just because you lose a game doesn't really mean you played passive, bad and boring basketball.
