With every coaching change there is hope and fresh optimism. It never lasts, but it's fun to play along with until we actually have to take the field.

Read it all. There is no one on our roster with a legitimate Heisman shot. Literally, 0% chance this happens. You should have your thread starting privileges revoked.

Peyton was cheated out of it by ESPN's marketing department.

Johnny Majors finished 2nd place to a Notre Dame QB with a 2-8 record who threw 3 TDs and 13 INTs in 111 passes. That'd be like Jarrett Guarantano winning it last year over Devonta Smith and Trevor Lawrence. Hornung is easily the worst Heisman winner in CFB history.

Heath Shuler also finished 2nd; albeit, unlike Majors and Manning, he wasn't "cheated" out of the award. Charlie Ward deserved to win that year; he had one of the best seasons in CFB history.

So we have a lot of Heisman 2nd place finishes and no Heismans. And we now have a coach who won a national title, but had a 2nd place Heisman finish, which is strangely on-brand.

Yeah, Peyton got robbed. Everyone who watched college football that season knows Peyton contributed more to his team( carried them basically) than anyone else playing. He was denied by biased north east writers and alum and I never forgive them. One of the top 5 biggest scandals in all of sports.

Who said they are currently on the roster? Also, you know that 0% chance is a fact just as much as I would know there is 100% chance it happens. You should have your posting privileges revoked.

Majors was by far the best player on an undefeated regular season team.

The Heisman has broken from its formula twice in over 80 years. Both years involved a UT guy finishing 2nd.

Brown would have been a good choice but based on the traditional Heisman criteria, Majors was just as deserving. In any case, Hornung had no business winning it although he was a great player.

Hornung also played defense and was a FG kicker. Award went to best all-around player not just to QB with big stats like mostly now.

So you're predicting a player, who might not even be on the current roster, wins a Heisman in a season where we likely won't be projected to win more than 6 games? I know for a fact there is a 0% that happens. You are not very smart.

You can make the same argument for Johnny. Majors punted, returned kicks, and played safety on a very dominant defense.
And it’s definitely true that the award didn’t go to a QB with big stats... Hornung threw 3 TDs and 13 INTs that year.

I don't know if it is possible for a human being to have the kind of season it would take for a Tennessee player to ever receive the votes to win a HeisTman trophy.
