Hundreds of US generals and admirals around the globe have been called to Virginia for a meeting with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth next Tuesday, several US officials told CNN, though the reason for the meeting is unclear.

The meeting is expected to be held at the military installation in Quantico, Virginia, multiple officials said, adding that no one seems to know what the meeting is about, including the general and flag officers themselves, or why it was suddenly added to the calendar.

Odd. Anyone got theories?

My point exactly; they need to be worrying about warfighting and nothing else

Tell me you don't think that is commonplace, or enough of an issue to give a crap about relative to everything else.

When I worked contacts on military bases in the first decade of the century ; I never once encountered a drag show or story hour on any of the bases I worked at.
If a commander is spending ANY time (and my taxpayer money) on this claptrap; they don’t need to be commanding at all IMHO

I thought I did. 1) it is not (or at least wasn‘t „commonplace „ 2) it is enough of an issue to warrant attention.
Do you think it was a coincidence that military recruiting cratered under Biden and his woke SECDEV and joint chiefs but then speed once Hegseth came in and started cleaning house?

I need to see evidence its an issue worth our time. For example, I cannot imagine for one second that it is so common or frequent as to justify the expense or risk of flying every commander of our forces in the World to come get yelled at about it.

Hegseth never made it past O3 for a reason, and he's still stuck thinking like an O3.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was to announce that all branches of the military were going to swap to a new boot that makes it easier for people to lick.

What exactly is "thinking like an O3"?

Some of the best officers I knew never made it past O3 because they wouldn't play politics.

It might be about the Flotilla.

Spain and Italy have sent naval vessels to protect the Flotilla that is trying to get help to Gaza. If Israel does anything stupid, we will be obligated through our NATO alliance to side with Spain and Italy. I believe this is what they're talking about.

Didn’t Spain opt out of NATO in July?

Or maybe they just refused to pay their fair share?

Talking to a guy who plays Call of Duty with 10 year olds online.

This is like saying, "talking to a guy who plays chess at the park." Or "talking to a guy who likes pickup hoops."

You don't actually hang out with 10 YO's, you hang out with your fellow Dad friends playing against 10 YO's in a young man's game.

You sit around playing Call of Duty. Do you not work or are you a paid protester

It could be something trivial, or something related to the drones over Europe or none of the above.
