Hefney is moving to Inky's spot at cornerback. Morley is moving into Hefney's spot at safety.

"Athletically, we really don't drop off very much, it's just the depth now is thinner than it was," Fulmer said of the secondary moves. "Jason Allen went down last year and Inky Johnson played outstanding for us. Looking for the same thing to happen for us again."

I hope Fulmer is right.

McBride is moving to Harrell's spot inside, and Xavier Mitchell is moving to McBride's end spot. Mapu and McGlothlin have to "step up" Ryan Karl said. Fulmer said Demonte Bolden and Dan Williams need to improve.

And good lord, Meachem is the playmaker, but in my opinion Jayson Swain is the leader of this team:

"I love both those guys. But we can't think about that when go on the practice field or in between the lines. They want a ring on their finger at the end of the season, and that's what we're trying to do. We got to get that for them and get that for ourselves. I think we're down at the moment, but come practice time we got to put that behind us and make the best of this team."

I'm worried about our play at safety now. I think Heffney will be solid at CB though. He might be the best corner on the team.

I think Swain really is starting to emerge as a leader based of what I have read.

morley will never live up to his potential if he plays a new position every other week. he plays at strong safety and practices at strong safety, then an injury finally prompts them to put him at corner, then another injury and they stick him at free safety. how is a guy supposed to get comfortable?

he's a great athlete and there is a bit more "freedom" at free safety, but nevertheless. this is getting annoying.

It's a way to get him on the field as a starter though.

I think Morley will thrive at Free Safety. He is explosive and he is about to break out.

Morley is a playmaker....and what better position for him to play than FS for him to have the "freedom to make plays"!

I think the bigger problem will be inside not enough exp. at tackel. I am big on the 3-4 some of the nfl teams use it there is a reason for it, whin you need to cover ground fast up front and face a fast team like fla. this works. We used some in the cal. game but not the af. game thought this could have stoped the big gains, and giving then the short stuff.

You put your best four athletes out there, this is Florida, we are not fooling around, serious business, Sec East on the line.

IMO, we are not NFL material.
Against a team like AF, once again, IMO, we needed to play more of a gap 6 defense. You have to mess up the flow and if you don't, you have to be real solid and disciplined in your assignment reads. Didn't see that Saturday. Gap 6, tackle any and all legs that come your way. Lay your ears back.

With a team like Florida, IMO, we also can't set back and wait and play what happens. We don't need to get into many situations where we use the Mustang. We need to keep Leak on his heels the whole game. You don't make many pass completions when you are on your back.

The keyword is "athlete" he can be put in any spot in the secondary and excel, so nothing to ever worry about. He has played cb, ss and fs, he is familiar with all of the positions.

I agree with Mr. Rockytop. Versatility is not a bad asset to have in this area right now. It seems to be working dang good for A. Rogers. I've posted it in another thread, and I still think Karl and X. Mitchell will be big factors in this game.
