The latest from G'ville. UM's comments after yesterday's practice. This is why UF fans are so excited to have UM as opposed to the Zookerat the helm:

"Tempo of practice," Meyer said when asked why he was so pleased. "We are not a slow, walk-around outfit. We're fast, up tempo, get to the line of scrimmage, call the play and go. Get back, go again, go again, go again.
"Our scout team did a good job, our coaches did a good job, but most importantly, our players. That's the way a practice is supposed to look, and to be honest with you I haven't seen many of those around here like that."

Is this supposed to make the gatornation feel good?

They are not slow to the line, the scout team looks good against the starters, the pactice looked good for the first time.

Oh no! Can we reschedule? ;)

You guys crack me up. Clearly you subscribe to the hear no evil, say no evil school of being a football fan: No matter what, and I mean NO MATTER WHAT, never give the opposition any credit whatsoever. In that way, your blind loyalty to your own team will be rewarded by reinforcement from other synchophants.

In fact, if I were you guys, I'd just bury my head in the sand now, safe in the knowledge that not only is UT undefeated, but there is not one iota of athleticism, good coaching, or promise in any of the teams you face. Gosh, why even play the game? Obviously, Florida has no chance.

Welcome to the team!!!! :nener:

I think you have several instances of us saying it will be close and well-faught.

Please excuse us for expecting CUM to prove it before we bow down. You'll find plenty of band-wagoning going on at gatorsports. have fun. And, at least here we keep it civil instead of dental hygene, sister-screwing, weight and doughnut jokes.

Get real.

(a little careful editing and you can make any quote say just about anything you want it to) :whistling:

All kidding aside. When I read those first reports out of the Florida practice session saying they were struggling, I was a bit skeptical. Downplaying your talent/abilities is quite common in athletics. Even Spurrior did that from time to time. I fully expected there to be a turn around to 'we're ready to play' as the season got closer to a start.

In fact I've been a bit surprised by some of Coach Fulmer's comments, like this one: "It's very difficult to argue with the folks who think we have a chance to be good.."

You'll have a good team. I think UT will get a measurment on how good they really are when the two teams meet.

Excuse me. You are ON A TENNESSEE board.

What answer did you expect to your worthless post (as far as Vol fans are concerned)?

I mean hell buddy, OF COURSE we think our team is good. As do you with your team. What credit does Urban deserve for waking up this morning? Because as Florida head coach, THATS ALL HE HAS DONE TO THIS POINT.

Well, that and run a couple of "fast paced" practices. Well hell fire, let's just give up and not even come down there to Florida.

Come on, IF you really are a law student, you SHOULD be smart enough to understand our reactions to this better than you are.

GvHm6- Fulmer is VERY confident in this team, which makes me happy. That makes me think we will see things from the coaching staff this season that we may not be used to.

Last night, Fulmer was talking to a group of fans at Neyland and ended his time by saying, "Let's go win the Rose Bowl!" I can't wait until next Saturday. I think the renewal will begin then.

If you go back and read it, the argument I made (really, more of an observation), was that UM's attitude is so much better than Zook's and that is why we Gator fans are so upbeat about the change.

You see, I did not say UF is great. Didn't say UF will beat UT. Didn't say UT sucks. Didn't actually aver anything about any team.

But, the response to my post from UT fans was simply to criticize the Gators. I think maybe only one person out of, what, seven, said that the change over to UM from Zook was good news for the Gators.

You want proof of the irrationality of the UT fan response to my thread? Here it is: I said Gator fans are pleased that UM is now the coach. Virtually every responsive post from UT fans has ignored that and just gone right to criticizing Florida (or me, even better). In short, the UT fan responses had nothing to do with my post. Indeed, I could have earned the same responses simply by posting the word "Florida."

BTW, I am not a law student -- I graduated UF law in 1995.

Better yet, just post "Roll Tide" next time and see what happens!

I think the sentiment here is that no one really gives a flip about a scout team or a fast-paced practice in Gainesville around here. In fact, I doubt many people in Tennessee even care about a scout team or a fast-paced practice at UT. We want to hear about individual performances, elusive moves, breakaway runs, pinpoint-accurate deep balls, secondary coverage, batted balls, interceptions, pushes by the lines, punting average, long field goals, . . . . need I go on?

Hey, I'm pretty sure that very few of us were trying to get our AD to offer Zook a contract. He was no good for UF, and that's common knowledge. Point is: no one here is going to streak naked down Cumberland Avenue tonight with Urban Nation painted across their buttocks just because a newbie coach was generically pleased with his practice 450 miles away.

Some of us won't attack you personally, but I'm sure none of care UM's practice's. Me personally I'm more concerned with how well Ut's practices are going and hoping they are not worrying about the gators just yet not until we take care of a prior engagement with UAB. 1 game at a time, 1 game at a time.

you want a difference response? you can either take your gator loving azz to another thread or you could talk about the plague of injuries and lack of depth at the LB position for F.U.

Florida coach Urban Meyer said linebacker Brandon Siler, who missed his second consecutive day with a concussion, likely would return to full contact Friday. Meyer added that Earl Everett (sore neck) and Todd McCullough (swollen knee) are not at full strength, either.

All are expected to be ready for the season opener against Wyoming Sept. 3, which is good news for the Gators. Siler and Everett were the team's two leading tacklers last season. McCullough has 68 career tackles and six career starts.

The rest of the linebackers have four career tackles.
"When you take those guys out," Meyer said. "We're struggling to get lined up."

Folks lets face it, if you give people a platform they will use it. I have found and seen other fans bring their lame a** dont amount to anything posts on here and us fans go out of our way to be offended. I for one am impressed that they are pracvitcing and the scout team is doing well,it's good to see that they now have a scout team instead of a drunken fraternity to scrimmage against...Always remember if you build it they will come...If you ignore them they will go... :moon2: :moon2: :moon2:

Doesn't that just put a picture in your head of 2 very tall ladders, side-by-side with EA on one and RC on the other directing "Rocky Top"?

Instant Flame War ... Just add Lawgator.

Ready in 6-7 posts.

I'm not bashing on you man, as I don't particularly think you ever start these little verbal skirmishes, but it does seem that every thread you post on turns into you defending yourself against more than one attacker.

And before you try to turn it around and blame the UT fans on this site, there are fans from other schools who don't generate this type of response every time out. Gatorville doesn't generate this type of response every time he posts either, so your school afiliation has nothing to do with it.

My point is, you post intending to get exactly these type of responses (you've openly admitted you do it just to instigate), so the whole self-righteous, you guys are ignoring the true meaning of my posts because you so blindly hate Florida thing is getting rather old.

Oh my, what a philosohpy.

We've just got to come up with a name for this.

Why don't we call it The Hurry Up Offense ... what's that ....... oh ... :birgits_giggle: :eek:lol:

Got to agree - the self-righteous crap gets old. Look at the title of your thread - it's not why we prefer UM, it's here come the Gators implying that the practice report is clear evidence of Florida's might.

If you then examine the report you find statements implying that they finally look good in practice - not exactly a ringing endorsement.

You're a lawyer - your thread title frames your argument. Your supporting evidence doesn't convince beyond a reasonable of a doubt or even a preponderance of the evidence. :p

Isn't it amazing that games are actually played on the field, where, by the way I hear they are also won or lost. What a revelation!

All this talk about here come the gators is wonderful, however Sept. 17th will be here sooner than later, and all this garbage can end.

It will be a good game IMO. I think its funny that an opposing fan comes on here and expects to hear nothing but rational responses to a thread that is entitled,"Here Comes the Gators".

You went to law school where?
LMAO

GO VOLS!
