Hearing from my friend in AD that there is a 9 oclock meeting to disuss game location

Your dreaming. What if we had a mess in Knoxville do you expect Tennessee and Sec would let us play in Gainesville 2 straight years? I don't think so.

Someone can't detect sarcasm if it went Pacquiao and hit em in the nose. The holiday inn Express comment should have clued you in and the no return to the swamp ever!?!?! Lol You must not remember the holiday inn Express commercials.

They would need to move the game to a night game from the 3:30 time slot if the team flew in on game day. An option but I think they have to move game time to make that work.

yeah, that's what they did for the LSU game. i forget when it was originally scheduled on the saturday, but it was played Monday night.

they could play it early evening...6ish, that way they could get back at a semi decent hour.

it's all speculation and too many factors involved to make any educated guesses today...my only point is that there are going to be a lot of options considered before they move that game.

It is VN after all. Some people are just really dense....

thread started elsewhere, game on,, Saturday, 3:30 pm EST in Gainesville...it's official.

It may be up to the students that are on campus to fill the stadium up. I suspect most other folks are more worried about getting their life back in order by checking on their homes, the places of employment etc.

Even if the game is moved - just don't see some FL folks put priority on attending a college game if they have incurred any damage from Irma.

They will fill the stadium with scalper tickets for Vol Fans.

I'm glad we have all these well connected insiders, where else would we get our false information.

I'll be your official well connected insider from now. I'm pretty imaginative. I can come up with some great rumors for you to report. Just don't attach my name to them.

imo any meeting would have been less to do with whether Gainesville is safe for a ball game and more to do with whether or not all the resources required for a ball game are currently available or if they're off somewhere that needs them more right now. Like for our home games, there's a mass casualty response unit that's parked a block or so away from the stadium, and there's a police force contingent, and security, and emergency services. There's a boatload of staff and equipment required to pull off an event the size of every SEC football game anywhere, even Vandy. It'd be silly not to have a meeting a couple days after a major hurricane to make sure everything you need for a game is still going to be available, even if the venue itself is fine.

LOL looks like they didn't check the facts - but maybe they called UF 38 times and got no answer so they assumed things were normal.

This is why you have to wait for official word - media is more often the last to know.
