Significant power outages in Gainesville area.

They may get the power on by Saturday and a lot of folks probably want that game to go off as scheduled in the Swamp but, gonna be a big production to get Tennessee down there, all the logistics required that could be used for relief, and other stuff. This is going to be a lose - lose proposition in my opinion.

USF just announced their game is going on as scheduled friday night in Tampa and Bucccaneers on Sunday as scheduled

I put myself in UFs shoes. If UT had this sort of damage, flooding, emergency personnel working long shifts, etc., we would look to a neutral site to play the game. If you play the game and one of many things go wrong i.e. someone trying to get help for recovery can't, injuries or worse involved, you would never live it down. I'll watch the game and root the Vols no matter where and when it is played, but the news in Gainesville ain't great. Read it for yourself.

I think the one of the big problems is gas. People's generators are running out of gas and no gas stations have any. Even if they are able to get some in the next coming days, it will be all gone as soon as it's delivered. With people coming in for the game, which pat Dooley suggested 40-50% of the stadium are people from out of town, I'm sure fuel will be a problem. However, if we play it there I'm fine with it. Just more than the stadium and locker rooms are good to go.

I don't need so called insider information on a game that was never canceled in the first place. It was all hypothetical that the game could be moved if the need were to be.

I find it amusing that people in Tennessee are trying to tell people in Florida the appropriate way to respond to hurricane events.

there's already precedents set for this...if the game can be played in Gainesville, it will be played there. we had an LSU game moved to a monday night, we flew down in the a.m., flew back after the game in the p.m. and i don't think we'd be opposed to doing that really, given the short week last week, and the opponent on the following saturday.

moving it to a neutral site will be the last resort, and it's only tuesday. not to say that will will be well in the state of FL by Fri/Sat....but there may be more stability by then. that's what they're trying to figure out now. until they have some better projections on what things will be like, i'm firmly in the camp that the game will most likely be played Saturday in Gainesville. and it should be, if it can be.
