Heading to Gainesville: Where to park, eat, etc.

It's been a while since I have been on here, but I was wondering what all I need to do in Gainesville this weekend. We are departing Knoxville Friday at noon and staying that night in Valdosta. We are planning on heading to Gainesville around 8 to start tailgating, and need a place to park and probably grab lunch since we're not bringing a grill. Afterwards (Hopefully celebrating a win) we were wanting to check out some bars until heading back to Valdosta for the night.

Leave the car in Valdosta and hitchhike to the game. You won't need to fumigate it that way.

Back in 2011, we decided to just go down University Ave and picked a street to head down...there are people that make their homes tailgate/parking lots and will usually take you in like family...well at least that's what they should do for charging $30 lol We got lucky....partied with 4 smoking hot chicks hit the jackpot...hit or miss!

Last time we were down there in 2013 a bunch of us tailgated at a big grassy lot on the corner of University and 13th, walking distance from The Dump....I mean The Swamp.

IIRC, it was like 20 bucks a car and plenty of both teams' fans there. Nothing special but got the job done.
