Well, he’s here for awhile so should we just accept the lame coach?

I am backing a Brinks truck up to Urban Meyer or Bob Stoops. And I keep backing Brinks trucks up until they say yes.

I'd love to see Joe Brady but he's likely to be an NFL head coach next season or the season after.

I’m partial to Matt Campbell. But, whoever it is needs to be an experienced HC with a track record of success.

I also think the whole structure of the program needs to be examined. We have now had three coaches and at least three ADs over the past decade.... And every single coach proved to be an inept buffoon by the end of their tenure.

Were they all simply that bad? Is there something in the institutional culture that makes them even worse?
This.

We also have too many homers and big name, no-coaches on staff. Tee, Weinke, even Chaney.

We need proven coaches. I still believe Pruitt can make UT relevant. He needs to clean house, though.

At this point we wouldn't be any worse off if we just didn't have a coach for a couple of years.

You're probably right but we're known for taking chances on up and comers, right? I'm sure there's plenty of guys on VN that could do as good as CJP for a 1/4 of the cost or less. What do we have to lose at this point? And hey we might even get struck by lightning maybe one of these guys really is more than a man cave coach.

This is where we disagree. I don’t think Pruitt has a chance of a snowball in he!! of being a successful HC.

Peter Principle. DC is Pruitt’s ceiling...and only where he has clearly superior talent. Put him at DC at Arkansas and they immediately get worse.

Show me a a coach that does more with less. That is the guy who can truly coach. And right now, those are coaches like Freeze, my favorite Campbell, Shaw (but he isn’t leaving Stanford).
