I don't know if Dooley is the guy to bring us back to the top or not, but we really can't afford another coaching change.

I wasn't a fan of the hire. I thought we were a top ten team historically and could get the best football had to offer. No offense to Dooley but he really is a gamble and not a proven winner as a head coach. We can't call for a guys head before he has been given the chance to put together an entire team and run his kind of program. I think we would need to wait until at least 2013 or 2014 to have that.

I know the problem with that scenario. If he's not the right coach then we waste how ever many years with him. Personally, I think he's shown enough to be given that chance, but its not may call. It's Jimmy Cheek's, or the new AD, or whoever gets paid a boat load of money to make those kind of calls.

yea and there is a reason for that.......He was available for AD also..........but there is a reason he is still available.....It was time for a change and had we made the right choice upon his departure then this thread may not be in existence.....but it was Lane's mouth and disloyalty that got us where we are today.....and it is a good thing.....Fans do not exercise patience......I am so tired of stating wait till next year......but I will say it again wait until next year......

I have zero disappointments with Dooley.....I am more disappointed in myself for thinking things would happen quicker that normal.....CDD had a mess to fix.....The one thing I know is that HE and that Staff are Professionals and good at their jobs.....they are dealing with youth....

"Big Name" coaches won't touch UT because of idiots like the OP. Why should anyone jeopardize his career when the emotional loud mouths can run him out of town before he has time to get things moving. After one loss it is like stubbing your toe and yelling "I"M dying". Let the emoting blithering idiots have their say and move on.

He's clearly not insinuating that he wants Dooley gone, he just wants to see who those people that do (and there are many idiots on here) would want to replace him.

The op failed in his second paragraph when he stated that a number of us do not like CDD. That is not true. He's also clearly not insinuating that he wants Dooley to stay either. In fact, I would say that this is more along the lines of what he's really saying.

Really?????? WTF! Give me a break, Coach DD is a very good coach and someone who can move this team in the right direction. Does anyone remember what lip boy did to our team and fat Fulmer (Years after the champion)? NO Talent!!!! Before you lip boy class was the highest in years. Let me ask you, who is our team from that class that is given us good minutes? No many!!! Who got Hunter and this great freshman and sophomore class. This men are given there heart to the orange. You should too.

Dooley is going to get it done! I suppose he was supposed to wave the magic wand and keep Justin from tearing his knee out. Had he not done that we WOULD have been in the game, made it close, and possibly have won. The team had EVERY opportunity to quit. They didn't. They kept fighting in the face of adversity and had a chance at the end to make it a close game and possibly even win. Dooley haters, **** this website!

What!? Are you kidding me!! After one loss! Whoever is calling for his head after ONE game should get some perspective and grow up a little. This man has begun to restore stability, a work ethic, and the understanding of what it means to be Vol to our program. Plus, look at his recruiting classes. Often in college football impatience is simply another form of stupidity, immaturity, and short-sightedness. Give the man AT LEAST another two or three years. And plus, a loss to FL does not totally eliminate our chances of winning the East.

Yep this is a joke. Dooley is the right coach for the job. I will stand behind him. It does take time to get the right players for his system. I would say in year 3 we will have the backup we need when a player goes down. Don't call for coach before giving him time. GO Vols.

Absolutely nuts. We didn't win, but I didn't see them give up, either. That's much more than what can be said of the Fulmer era.

Florida has been recruiting well for years now, and Tennessee has been rebuilding for years. If you can't see that the difference in talent and depth, you are nuts. Let the guy have some more recruiting classes and you will see it swing the other way.

....contrary to popular belief many Tennessee fans are not very sophisticated about football nor are they willing to accept that Tennessee is on the cusp of not being a major program anymore. The Vols will have to earn their way back into major college football and this slide did not start wit Dooley.....reality check is in order for all concerned!
