Head Coaching Candidates?

We lose one game and we are ready to fire the coach. A lot of you guys are just plain embarrassing. Its true what they say about stupid, you cant fix it.
DD is our coach, get over it!

I find it stupefying how many people thought the OP was calling for Dooley to be fired. That being said, timing was certainly a little odd.

dooley should get at least 2 more years to turn the program around. He inherited a depleted roster from kiffin/fulmer.

I know that fans on this board have the freedom to post what they like...but, seriously!? It's stuff like this that makes me cringe. Especially, knowing that other fans, players, potential players, and coaches come to this site from time to time. I may participate in a conversation like this in the future. But, I prefer that it be after at least 3 seasons! Jeez.

GO BIG ORANGE!!!

Tennessee fans are no different than the general population ... no one has patience anymore and only immediate gratification can squelch them ... kindda like a two year old. Coach Dooley is the BEST thing to happen to Tennessee since Doug Dickey took the reins back in the 60's. Dooley is an intelligent, innovative, motivator that represents Tennessee with class both in the recruit's home and in the national spotlight. He WILL win big in the near future ... book it !!!

Go Coach Dooley and go Vols !!!

I support Coach Dooley and have always said I'd give him 4 years before I started questioning his ability. We were an utter mess when he took over. No big name coach wanted the job as it could tarnish their reputation, they knew how big of a job it was. Dooley looked at it as an opportunity to make a name for himself. I have to respect the man on those grounds alone and am willing to give him the time.

OP is a moron.

Losing to UF 7 straight sucks *ss though.

2 of the coaches on your list are "dead men walking"

Richt at Georgia (Boy does it make me happy to say that)

and

Nutt at Mississippi

and perhaps even 1 more if their teams don't pick it up a bit.

This thread is just to stupid for me to read all of it, so I only read the first page. CDD is steadily improving a depleated progam. No need to look at other coaches in the near future. OP, you should have chosen a better first post in my opinion...

This is my first thread, ever.

I see a number of members don't like CDD so I was curious who are the realistic candidates those members would suggest as a replacement? For those willing to give CDD another year or two (conditionally) please offer your nominations as well. If you have more than one candidate, even better.

For comparative purposes:

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- New Tennessee coach Derek Dooley will earn $1.8 million in his first season of a six-year contract.

Under agreements between Tennessee and its new coaches, Dooley's nine assistants will make a combined $2.7 million. Tennessee announced the salaries Tuesday.

Defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox's $600,000 salary is the largest among the assistants. Offensive coordinator Jim Cheney will earn $425,000.

Dooley was hired Jan. 15 to replace Lane Kiffin. He will make $200,000 less than Kiffin made in his only season at Tennessee. Kiffin left Jan. 12 to coach Southern California.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions. I really am interested to see if there is a board favorite.

you're an idiot and certainly not a Vol fan.

Good Lord people another coaching change ? Really ? We are already down for another year at least with the last coaching change. Some of you are embarassing to the Vol Nation.

I was just waiting for someone to start a thread like this. Fulmer left this program in a total mess, and then to have an idiot coach come in for one year and then leave the way he did is more than any team would be able to overcome in a matter of 2-3 years. Dooley is having to deal with more than any coach I can think of. Our best defensive player gets kicked off the team before the season starts, and then our best offensive player is out now. CDD is doing a fine job, especially with all of the crap he's been dealt, and we need to get behind him and support this team. If people can't understand this, then they need to go find another team to cheer for, and then don't come back in another year or two when the Vols are competing for championships. :realmad:

YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME! CDD is doing a good job with this team. After 15 games you are talking replacing him. This thread is a joke. You do realize that recruits look on this forum and I'm sure when they see BS threads like this they cross UT off their list.
