Get ready for Tee Martin HC/IT . I guess Albert will be happy.

Our other choices look to be
Lane
or the unknown dude from NC State.

Let's piss off everyone and hire Lane Kiffin, win a National Champion, pick our teeth, scratch our ass, eat a hotdog then go home.

I'm fine with that. If we are seriously considering taking a shot at the NC State guy... take a shot with Tee... or Kiffin. Or Kiffin with Tee as OC if he'd come

Smart move.. At least they'll get more fan money for a couple of years til they figure out Tee wasn't ready for the job. I'm fine with hiring Tee.. They should fire Currie the day after though and take Davenport with him. This isn't going to end well for him or several more up there.

Tee as a feel good story would last...until he struggles his first year. Anyone thinking this fanbase will give him a pass because he's Tee is fooling themselves.

I've said from the beginning that Tee would be a great hire. He has a desire to prove himself, is a great recruiter, and is one of the best offensive minds in the country.

Don't give me this crap about qualified. Half the guys qualified are boring hires who are barely .500 as head coaches. Tee would bring excitement to the program and an influx of talent.

Again I'll post NC State was clowning TN!!! It was a joke. #extentsion or something along those lines. A play on words they knew TN fanbase wouldn't catch to make fun of them

Fan Polls lean heavy towards Kiffin.

Correction: A poll of those who are currently on VolNation and wishing to vote are leaning towards Kiffin. The rest of us don't want him, or are simply waiting to see who will be selected/approached next.

Polling is a very tricky science, if you want to get a true representation of a population's thoughts or opinions.

Tee would be smart to not take the job right now

This fan base won't wait around for someone to learn on the job

You don't hire someone just because they wore the orange either.

Tee has been an OC for 2 years. No HC experience

Its not what we need now. Bring in another proven HC, Tee as OC and groom him to take over, just like Fulmer did. Let him cut his SEC teeth as an OC first to see how he can handle it

I wonder about some of you and your ability to reason

They have on their VFL Blinders that is being spurred by other VFL armchair coaches who have no clue and for some reason are okay with throwing another VFL to the wolves.

I think our options are:

Tee
Les
Kiffin

Would gladly take any of them over the loser Currie tired to hire Sunday.

For the life of me, I do not understand why people are floating Les Miles. Makes no sense, Fulmer would be a better solution, at least a UT man, mentor Tee for a season, set him free.

Here's what I'd do. Bring Kiffin in as, on the condition that he hire Tee as OC and associate head coach. We'll recruit like crazy and win like crazy.

Then, if things go south with Kiffin for any reason, we've got a GREAT backup who can immediately step in as interim head coach, prove himself, and get the full-time gig after one good season. It's a win-win.

Just curious, has Tennessee ever had a black or African-American head coach?

You should not hire someone just based on the color of their skin

Sports is merits based

Its why you play the best player, regardless of color

Affirmative Action has no place in sports. Could you imagine officials on the field throwing flags because not enough players of a particular race aren't equally represented on the field at one time?

"5 yard penalty on the offense. Not enough slow white guys on the field. Replay 1st down"

Sports has always been the one thing that has allowed us to step away from all the racist nonsense in this country. But now, you can't even get away from it when people try to bring race into everything as a reason people aren't played or the reason they don't get hired

Maybe, just maybe you aren't qualified or are not that good at what you do

My sentiment exactly.

I'm around USC guys 3-4 days a week, two of whom have been, shall we say, intimately connected with USC athletics.

Their opinion....likeable guy.....good recruiter.....not much more.

Addendum:

I would be Ok with hiring him and hope he would bring quality assistants. If so it might be good, especially on the recruiting front. No doubt he's all Vol at heart.
