I just saw an interview with Kiffin on ESPN news.. The talking head asked him about the rumors that his dad was coming.. He said "the only thing they had discussed was that it would be nice to coach together" He said that they hadn't even talked about it and he had others to interview.. the taking head then ask what it would be like to coach with his dad... He said that he wouldn't speculate on that because they had discussed the UT possiblity and he dad was doing great in Tampa and was happy there... He went on to say that he might interview his dad at seasons end if he thought his dad was interested... Didn't really sound anything at all like a done deal to me..

I think that answer was more subterfuge than anything else. Monte IS in the middle of a season trying to make a playoff run. Professional courtesy dictates that you don't go messing with what Monte has going until the season is over, as doing otherwise could hurt his team in the playoffs. Just my .02.

Coachspeak, out of respect for Monte and the Tampa Bay Bucs. I would expect nothing less.

Give this one time. If we still don't have a DC by late December or January, or the end of Tampa's season, then you can be pretty sure Monte will more than likely be on his way to Knoxville

I don't know whether there are done deals or not with CMK but even if there were, there would be no talk. His team is leading their division and will probably wind up in the playoffs.

Yep out of respect for Gruden and his father he is going to allow them to finish their season without the media messing with the player's and staff's heads, but I'm sure they are all preparing for it.

Held the league leading passing offense NO St.s to 20 points, I sure hope we get Monte locked down.

I don;t think there is any doubt, he is just trying to allow Tampa to finish the season with as little distractions as possible

We better hope he brings his dad here cause loosing Chavis is probably the biggest loss of the outgoing coaching staff.

I agree, but even if we don't end up getting Monte I doubt we settle for a step back in that department. Regardless, the next DC will be as good or better than Chavis.
