He is still on the Team...

Tell him to go F himself if true ... needs to be kicked off immediately if he has one second of insubordination after second chance.

There appear to be multiple players saying that Jones made promises that he didn't follow through on. How does that equate to Jones being booted?

Why on earth would Jack Jones quit the team when he and Venzel Boulware are fighting for a starting Guard spot??? Makes no sense and trolling rumors are getting old

And this is what happens when we hype kids up. Told you guys a while back. Same as Kongbo last year. We hype em up them want them off the team at the first rumor of adversity. Take note folks.

First rumor of adversity ?? If he quit the team , he quit ... this is not a dispute it's that he quit. Have always thought he was a good player but if he is a primma Donna , we don't need that

That's tough to believe, but I do not doubt anything when it comes to Tennessee. Jack Jones has always been a player that seems invested to the program and 100% VFL. However, we never know what goes on behind closed doors or what "promises" are made to players. Ultimately, it's Tennessee and the SEC. You earn your spot, it is not given to you in a promise.

I wonder what kind of promises are made to an O-lineman?

Could be playing time. Could be getting his position back after recovering from an injury. Could be getting a shot at Center. Could be any of a number of things.

Does anyone have actual evidence this rumor is true?

Or are we all being little old ladies in rocking chair knitting and gossiping?

But yeah. I'm trying to think of any promises someone could make to an O lineman? Like? Guaranteed bacon on demand? Burger King coupons?

Obviously not true. Everyone knows CBJ is a gut puncher when it comes to OLs. Jeez people get your conspiracies straight.

There is no evidence he's a prima donna. There does appear to be a pattern of Jones leading guys to believe things then not following through.

So promises were made. What promises could cause someone to want to quit right at the start of a camp where you're battling for a starting spot?

Saw someone compare this to Hurd and I can see some similarities.
1. Both played a lot as sophomores but have a lot of competition for their spot
2. Both happening around their junior year
3. Both from Tennessee

I'm not sure any of that means anything.

Theu are kids dude, kids. My kids act like every issue is the end of the world and they are not treated like royalty as 5 star athletes. Stuff happens man, let them work it out before we start blowing stuff up. Many did the exact same to Kongbo. They have to learn to deal with adversity and for some its easier than others, especially those that spent their senior year in high school being told how great they are.

Actually, there's just a pattern of anonymous posters saying it.

Here's an idea, let him win the opportunities.

AGREE COMPLETELY which is why there should never be a suggestion of a promise to a player or recruit. If this were the first suggestion that Jones had overpromised then it wouldn't be an issue. It isn't.
