HBO's "Game of Thrones"

wow what an ending to the season. Did Jon kill that dude by mistake? Also loved Sansa's laugh when she found out she didnt have to marry Jeoffery. oh and White walkers!!!

Did Jon kill that dude by mistake?

ehh not exactly. The guy wanted John to get in close with the "king beyond the wall". He knew they would never trust John, so he sacrificed his own life by provoking John to kill him. Because he did that, theres a better chance of the wildlings trusting John so that he can get close enough to kill them.

ah got it. i guess the first signs of them trusting John was when they let his hands free...

No those weren't white walkers I just looked it up and verified it with someone who read the books.

The guys who are just raised from the dead out there because there bodies weren't burned aren't considered white walkers - there's another name for them.

I was under the impression that the "zombies" were people killed by white walkers because they can re-animate people that they kill. The guys on the horses with the ice swords are the actual White Walkers though.

Agree but I don't think one has to be killed by the WW to be a "zombie". That's why the Wildings burn the dead

I'm reading the second book so this criticism may be a bit harsh but:

1. I thought the attack and subsequent defeat at King's Landing was far too brief and appeared far too small in scale - attack and defeat at one gate? (I haven't gotten to this part in the book yet so I can't compare). Also, it is not at all clear how Stannis got from being inside King's Landing to back at home with the crazy ginger.

2. There was no explanation for how Winterfell went from being surrounded by allegedly pro-Stark people to a completely burned out situation when presumably the crew from Pyke was getting the hell out of there. (Again, I haven't gotten here in the book).

3. From reading the book I don't know why they changed up the dragon lady's encounter with the Warlocks - much of the Quarth situation was changed but the general outcome has been the same so far as I can tell.

Still love the HBO treatment though.

The zombies were wights while the ones on horseback were white walkers. I've read the books.

Yup. I'm still on the first book so don't spoil anything :)

One thing I want to know is where in the hell is Ghost?! He's the baddest dire wolf the Starks have, no way he's gone forever.

1. HBO really needs to allow more than 10 episodes a season. Battle of Kings landing easily could of taken alot more time. In only 10 episodes what would you cut out? are there some slow parts? Yes, but I feel like they are needed to move the story. I felt the same way in season 1, and those were small battles.

2. agree, 10 episode thing again.

3. agree

I won't. I'm really excited for the next couple of seasons which will cover the third book, the best book IMO, of the series so far. The direwolves definitely play a bigger role in the books. They aren't featured as much in the show due to the budget. Ghost played a role in Qhorins death that we didn't get to see last night which I was a little disappointed in.

$$$$$$$$$

This. Rome had a ton of viewers as well, but they decided to budget accordingly to what they thought would be justice to the plotline, and that eventually got them axed.

HBO makes a ton of money, but they still can't exactly write a blank check for this stuff.

The streaming internet viewership cuts into HBO's profits, too. With that said, I'd love to have seen at least two more episodes per season to flesh out the many storylines. I've become addicted to the show and I'm about 2/3 through the first book.

The on-screen tension this season with Arya and Lord Tywin was awesome, I think they were some of my favorite scenes of the show so far.

$$$$$$$$$

it costs like 6 million per episode. fairly cheap for a hit show. so it seems like 2 more episodes per season wouldn't be that big of a deal. Plus help explain some of the stuff better. I've read the first 2 books. If I hadn't I think I might be a little confused about things.

I done a quick search and saw that in the 1st week the box set sold 350,000 copies. not sure how many have sold up to this date.

for example: Walking dead done a 6 episode season to see how much interest was in it. last season was around 24 episodes. HBO knows there is interest in the show, and they have to be gaining subscribers just because of this show alone.
