HBO's "Game of Thrones"

Hodor was amazing and did anybody else think it's a nod to Alexander Dumas and the Count of Monte Cristo?

so now that Meera and Bran are alone (Meera dragging Bran mind you), far away up in the North, with a colossal army of WW and wights right behind them, what are the chances we do indeed get to see

Coldhands

or more likely, dare i say Benjen?

Coldhands is a Stark but he's not Benjen Stark. Coldhands also known as the "Nights King" was the 13th commander of the Nights Watch.

Where is it confirmed that The Nights king is Coldhands? Not doubting you just want to know where I can find that. The Nights King is a great story.

Its never confirmed but it is hinted to in the books. Remember the Nights King appeared in season 4 when Craster was sacrificing his children to the Nights King who then turned them into white walkers I forgot to say that the Nights King could most likely be Bran the Builder. In the books Old Nan says that she thought the Night's King name was Brandon or Bran. He was supposedly executed by his Brother Bran the Breaker with a sickle after he was defeated by the alliance of the Northmen and the King Beyond the Wall. The Nights King is described as "tall and hard, stern men in fur and chain mail." This all from the Lore of the age of Men. In the book Bran witnesses the execution in a weirwood vision like we've seen on the show. We might not know who the Nights King is until next season.

The Nights king came centuries after Bran the Builder. He was a lord commander of the Nights watch that took a wife and decided he wanted to be a king. They may change the story to fit their purpose, but he is not Bran the builder. There have been hundreds of Brandon Starks in the Several thousand years that the Starks have ruled the north.

The COTF touched the white walker's armor, when Meera hit him in the neck. It's not a Targ thing. Remember, Sam killed a white walker too.

Like I said Ill have to watch it again but what I remember was the guy popping like a balloon as soon as she touched him with the spear she grabbed from the wall.

Random question. I have decided to give the books another shot as I couldn't get into them a few years ago. I am not sure if I just forgot from the show, but do we know what has happened to Benjen Stark?

Nope. One of the great mysteries of the series.

The speartip was made from obsidian (dragon glass), which kills white walkers. Whether the spear was Meera's or the children's, not sure. Both have access to dragon glass.

In the books and show both he simply disappeared along with his men. Every group they sent out to search for him disappeared also. It is one of the long standing mysteries of the story.

How long would it take 3 dragons to fry an army of whitewalkers and wights? That is one thing the WWs are not counting on. They have never had to tangle with Dragons before. If course you have to find two more riders. Dragons will not just let anybody hop on.

I feel like this kind of stuff should go under spoiler. People find this interesting, but there are a few on this board who would like to limit their knowledge of the show to simply the show and the trailers and book lore, and not of any photos of the filming process.

his men (or at least two of the rangers that left with him) didn't disappear. their bodies were found and taken back to castle black, where they rose as wights and attacked Jon and Lord Commander Mormont.

Yea I put a spoiler tab in the post and it still turn out to show the pics. I even google hoe to spoiler tag pictures and didn't get anywhere.

Yes..two of them did. Good call..I started to say that and second guessed myself. Oh well it is a lot to remember. I've read a lot of the history, and pre-war of succession stories like Dunk and Egg and the Dance of dragons. It all runs together sometimes. Oh and for you GOT geeks a question...Is Brynden Rivers not one of the coolest characters in that whole universe? I wish they would do a series on the Blackfyre rebellions, and The Dance of Dragons.

If the choker's on, she's hot. It's not an illusion. Think of it as mystical plastic surgery. :good!:

That also happens when you drink too much..wake up and be like "what the crap are you doing here Shamu, and what did you do with the supermodel I came home with?"

So, apparently everyone knows but me so I'll just ask. 1. What was it about hearing her say "Hold the door" that caused young Hodor to collapse into seizures and 2. What did Meera see/hear that caused her to freak out and run outside? TIA.

Does anyone else think Meera..
..is Jon's sister? They both look very similar and her grabbing that spear and killing a white walker was interesting considering there was nothing special about the spear AND one had previously just bounced off one of the walkers...
They're likely each half Targ, if not 100% related. I think the survivors after the Tower of Joy fight make that quite clear
