Also I am jealous you didn't know it was going to happen. You should go back and re-watch this season for clues to Bolton's betrayal of the Starks.

I am unsure if I prefer the book or the show's version of the Red Wedding. It has been 7 years since I read it, but I think the changes they made to it for show made it a little more dramatic.

Still sucks they are waiting until next season to do the rest of book 3.

I knew something was about to go down when one of Frey's men crept into the hall and cryptically closed the door and locked it.

My fiance screamed as loud as Robb's wife right when they attacked - seriously one of the most powerful moments we've ever experienced watching tv.

I'm super pissed but enthralled at the same time....the audacity!!

Not sure, but the big tip off for Lady Stark was when one of the Frey's said he didnt drink and put his hand over the wine glass and she saw him wearing chain mail.

Whats the deal though, Bolton and Robb's wife weren't even at the RW in the book?

That was Bolton who said he didn't drink.

I don't recall from the show last night but did the Blackfish leave before the massacre?

Bolton doesn't drink though. He wouldn't drink with Jaime Lannister either. I remember Jaime making a funny comment to him about it but I don't remember what he said.

Yeah, it was Bolton on the show, but I thought he wasnt there when it all went down (in the book). Or thats how I remember it. I know Robb's wife didn't die at the red wedding.

I think Blackfish left, right before they bolted the doors.

Don't remember Bolton being there either.

I wasn't sure on Blackfish but since they didn't show him getting killed at the wedding I figured he bailed. Can't recall from the book whether he attended or if he was off fighting somewhere.

If I remember right, Blackfish and Robb's wife (Talisa?) were left at Riverrun and she ends up having to take some drink to abort the baby.

I think Bolton would have benefited from a little more development of his character before the red wedding...

I doubt it.

From what I've seen the book readers had pretty much the same reaction. People were pissed though.

Too much like real life, where the good guy doesn't win as much as he should.

I love it. Yeah, it sucks that these main characters we've invested emotions into got offed but it's a huge breath of fresh air in story telling. Real life isn't fair, and GoT brilliantly reminds us of this.

Hind sight is 20/20. Robb Stark definitely had this coming if you look back at his decisions.

Honestly if Ned Stark getting offed didn't prepare someone for this then they simply weren't paying attention.

I remember reading it and it was a big shock but it only made the story better IMO.

I remember reading the Amazon reviews of the 3rd book and there was a lot of *****ing about killing off the good guys blah blah blah.
