This may be the most exciting game in a long time that I’ve not really been able to sleep waiting on this game. There is just something in the air about tomorrow that I can’t put my finger on. A CBS game at 2:30? I don’t have the words. I can’t believe it that we are playing at 2:30. I’m so emotionally exhausted right now. I’ve drained my self way before kickoff. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine, but none the less, we have a game tomorrow to even get more drained. In the morning, I’ll still be pumped so drained. All I can say is that I hope you’re ready.
LETS GOOOO!!

Not going to lie, I don't do this for my favorite teams. However, it reminds me of the night before every game from midget through high school and I think you for that. As a kid and young man, two nights were always the toughest to sleep due to thoughts running wild Christmas Eve and the night before every game I ever played in. It always went the same the night before any game...

Thinking about my my assignment on various plays.
Thinking about celebrating TD's with my team.
Thinking what if I get injured and then spending 20 minutes shaking the thought.
Thinking of my coach chewing me out and how that won't happen tomorrow, he always found a reason.
Thinking what if we lose, that is a feeling you should never get used to.
Thinking about the feeling of winning. No mater how many games you win, it never gets old.

I would then rinse and repeat until I drifted off. If you feel any bit of that way tonight, you luckily mother ....

I can live with that. I’ve got Palmer on another thread as key in this one for some reason.
I actually think Keyton will be the key to victory for us. The kid has struggled a bit out of the gate with his hands, much like Palmer did early on, but he has also shown flashes of his true talent. I think there will be a couple of deep shots in this game that Keyton will need to make the play for us to steal this game from the Bulldogs.

Ahhhh...high school football. On Thursday nights, I couldn’t sleep thinking of the game for Friday night. I’d talk to a lot of teammates on the phone late, because they couldn’t sleep thinking about what we were going to do. My parents would literally have to jump me and the ones that I was on the phone with to go to sleep. My dad so excited would always tell us, if y’all don’t go to bed, y’all are going to be tired all day Friday, and that y’all won’t be able to get a nap in on Friday evenings, because y’all have to be right back up to the high school to get ready for the game. He would always worry about it.So, yea, I can see your point here.It hasn’t changed, especially if you are use to it all of your life. The love of football will always be there, if you’re a Tennessee fan. I understand other fans are the same, but Tennessee is special for a fan base.

Keyton can be a force tomorrow. I can see that. He has to get open and catch the ball. Palmer is going to have the best corner on him, but I think he is going to be able to beat his man some. Johnson has to take the pressure off of both Palmer and Keyton, if all three can get open, especially Palmer, it’ll be a long day for the secondary of Georgia.

I agree it will take all three along with a few plays from Velus Jones as well. I've been impressed with his speed as well so far and I think we hid him a little bit in the Mizzou game. But with Keyton being the Georgia kid I just have a feeling he will make the big play.

Same. lol I've even got the Conan sound track going and knee deep in a painting instead of catching some Z's. Feels like time is standing still.

Venus Jones is quick. I wonder what we are going to see from him in a few plays? I thought about that the other day, with Kenton being from Georgia, will he be wanting to show what he can do being at home? I thank he will be wanting to beat this team to show his talent. What a way for this kid to grow up even faster tomorrow.

Awake here too. Not all because of game (aching knee after 5 surgeries over the years), but once the knee wakes me up then I start thinking about how much this games means and boom I'm wide awake. GBO!
I have a feeling that your pain will be gone for about three hours tomorrow. Hopefully, with a win, it’ll be gone for the rest of the weekend with happy thoughts.

When I was younger, I would have trouble sleeping before big games. A lot of those Florida games were like that. Florida 2000 I can remember being one hell of a long night, and we had tickets in prime seats. I needed a lot of caffeine to wake up for that one. And again in 2001 when it was for all the marbles in Gainesville. What's hard to appreciate today is that back then, you didn't have internet news and 24/7 contact with the program and with ESPN. A lot more relying to what so-and-so said on Gridscape, or what you heard on the radio leading up to the game. Basically, you didn't "know" as much the day before a game. You could fill in the blanks with more of your own imagination and speculation. In a way, it was fun. But the endless speculation could also keep you up at night. That said, I wouldn't mind if Tennessee could keep me up at night a bit more in the future. I do miss that feeling of the big time matchups. I'm totally fine enduring more sleepless nights to experience that again.

I watched a little bit of our upset win over GA in 04 earlier today and saw young players like Jayson Swain stepping up in big moments. It will take some plays like that and a stout defense. Idk if we have the same playmakers on this team but I believe Pruitt will have the boys in the right spot to make it happen. Its just a matter if they have it in them or not. GBO!
