Call me crazy but im excited about this season. I know we all say it every year but we have been in the dust long enough. Its UT's turn to re-emerge in the conference. We have the maturity and veterans present now on this team just like Swain, Ainge, meachem etc. in 2006. I compare it to Hunter, Bray, Rogers etc today.

Plus there not just playin to play this year. They are playin to keep ol Dools around.

I'm excited. I was excited in 2009, but more excited this year knowing depth isn't an issue and schedule is rather favorable. I'm expecting big things this year.

I believe most of us were pointing to this upcoming season as "the one".

Biggest difference is that the defense this year is unproven, and with a new system being installed, it's really hard to say how this season will shake out.. If this was the big12, I'd feel better.. But this is the sec, and defense rules this league.. Along with running the ball, and we need to be a lot better at that.

I believe I can fly...
I believe I can touch the sky...
I think about it every night and day...
Spread my wings and fly away...
I believe I can soar...
I see me running through that open door...
I believe I can fly...
I believe I can fly...
I believe I can fly

Go Vols!

Tennessee football will be based on a very explosive offense... will make the games very exciting to watch. If the defense shows up, we may not have to watch as many shootouts...

I don't seem to stay excited this year. Probably from so many let downs the past few seasons. It started with the blocked kick at Bama actually, and just went from there. Bad mojo, all the winner-nope-loser games, the injuries, it all just doused the fire I used to feel.

I do feel good about a lot of things right now though. And I get totally pumped watching interviews, reading about the players, talking with other fans. It just doesn't seem to last. Tempered optimism might describe it at this point.

It's gonna take a good year to get the feeling back.

GO VOLS!!

I love the enthusiasm. However, as you admitted, this thread comes up 100 times EVERY spring! Hope you're right

Don't feel bad. It's a normal human defense mechanism. Lot's of us are in the same boat.

Maybe the negavols are affecting me, but i'm very anxious about this year. There's opportunity here but when there's opportunity to do well, there's also an opportunity to fail. I don't know that his coaching staff, this team, this program, or this fanbase could handle another serious letdown.

With that said, I'll be in Atlanta for Nc State, in Neyland for Alabama and Florida, and in Nashville for Vandy. Wouldn't miss it for the world!
