Have we officially seen the end of 3rd Down for What?

So what let the have fun if they like it keep it going. Next thing you all will want is for everyone be quite while the other team has the ball. If you don't like it stay home. This is not golf people. Its football. Get as loud as you can to help our Vols.

If you actually attended the games, you would see that Third Down for What does quite the opposite. The music starts, everyone dances like idiots, the other team easily discusses the next play in a quiet stadium of dancing fans, then they line up to take the snap, then the crowd gets loud.

The crowd needs to be absurdly loud the instant the opposing team doesn't convert on second down. The opposing team shouldn't be able to hear each other discussing the next play.

The song is a novelty song. It's meant to go away eventually. I keep telling myself that anyways.

Almost right, the crowd needs to be absurdly loud the instant the opposing team gets the ball. The opposing team shout be able to hear while on offense.

It does get them going late, if they would skip to when the bass hits , I think it would get better result along with the DJ pushing the play button the instant they don't convert on 2nd down.

Go Vols!

Should only be played during the Big third downs when it is a little unexpected..
Kinda like when an old wrestler pops in on Raw... They could have been a jobber way back when, but the pop they receive now is always big.

I would also love it if they could play a Bobby Denton 3rd and the River/Hill for the long third downs occasionally..

How come the first down chant never caught on?

Because it was nowhere near as catchy as 3rd Down for What.

If they replace it they need to do so with something else that the recruits will love. The fans will be ok regardless as long as we win. The recruits need it to be flashy.

Because it was lame...similar to the "Fist Up" thing a few years ago.

This and this. Stunk from the get-go.

Also, from what I remember there wasn't a big crowd at the open practice where it was first introduced, so a lot of game day fans probably never heard it. I would also venture to say that a lot of the fans at the open practice were not the same fans that attend all the games (although I do both so maybe I'm wrong).

I agree - Need to get rid of the "woo" first.
