Have we found punt/kick returner?

After the anger subsides, I'm going to laugh when Devrin fumbles a few punts and never sees the field again.

Devrin gets the first chance of the freshmen, IMO. That is what CDD's bringing him in for, right?

I could see Marlin getting a chance at KR, though.

There is literally no reason to expect Devrin Young is a better returner than any of the skill position players currently on our roster or coming to Knoxville next semester

Devrin, Dallas, Arnett, Coleman and Randolph - those will be the ones competing out of the new signees.

I would think Young and Arnett.
I really liked the way gordon returned punts if he learned a little ball security he would be an adequate to good PR. Guess thats a little captain obvious but nevertheless i liked what he did.

Not near as fast. I've seen him a few times and he has fast takeoff but then he slows down then people just miss him. He did bad vs maryville but awesome vs crappy heritage. He had a kickoff and punt return consecutively vs heritage with chaney watching but heritage is slow. I would give arnett or dallas a chance first

The problem is that people legitimately assume that since he could return punts in HS that he will do well in college. Pretty much all of our skill position players did the same thing, many of which did it against better competition.

I like Tom Smith personally. I've never seen any of these guys play in person but just from the videos, this guy gets my vote.

Lets give DY a break, he'll turn some heads ;) I gotta good feeling about this kid being recruited just for PR and KR, so he will be able to focus on a specific job.

There is no reason to expect him to muff his first few attempts and flame out either.

Doubftul. And by doubtful, I mean highly, highly unlikely. He'll never see the field, and 3 years from now, people will wonder what Young is doing on the team.
