Saw in Lindy's where an opposing SEC coach said he simply wasnt very good. Im not buying 100% into what an anonymous rival coach says, but 5 games do not a career make. I just wonder if we haven't managed to overstate what he has accomplished. IMO he has all the physical ability, just not sold on his commitment to the game. I have seen many on here ready to go ahead and hand him the Heisman. I think that very few college football fans outside of Tennessee think he is all that. IMHO, I believe that under the tutelage of Chaney he will develop into an elite level SEC QB, although as of this moment he has a ways to go.

I think most of us have. He played 5 of the weakest teams on our schedule. I want to see how he does against top notch competition.

After he struggles against a very good Florida defense, I wonder how many idiots will be clamoring for Worley to go in.

Of course we have. We seem to do that to every person who shows flashes of greatness. We did it with Ainge. This year if he doesnt light it up every game, people will be trashing him left and right. It's just how people are. Halfway through the season people will be calling for him to be benched and to bring in someone else (but it wont be Simms).

That SEC coach is either lying or an idiot. Regardless of who he played last year, Bray did things that you don't see a true freshman do. He has elite talent -- there's zero doubt about that.

I too have concerns about the maturity and commitment to the game, but I think that will work itself out eventually.

i think he'll be fine.

the competition wasn't great, but he was a true freshman. i expect him to hold his own, especially if the line holds up.

whether he's a future all-american/heisman candidate......not fair to pass judgment on him based on 5 games as a true freshman, one way or the other.

I hope he doesnt go into a sophmore slump. this will be his first full season as the starting QB with a very improved O-line, great core of recivers and a loaded back field so he has a great supporting cast. But his mental knowlege of the game is where we will see if he is a man. I think coach Chaney can coach him up. He is good but I aint ready to put him up at the down town QB club in New York.

He's clearly got the talent to play well at this level. He was a true freshman last year and shredded some bad teams. I think Vols fans are excited about his future, no one has "handed him the Heisman".

He probably has the Best recievers in the SEC to throw to so that will help him also..Go Vols

this is the part we've overrated. Our receiving corps has talent, but wasn't very good last year and needs to improve a ton to get to the point our fanbase believes we'll reach.

Has too much been made about Bray lighting it up against Memphis, Ole Miss, and Vandy?...Yes. But so what?

I've seen many times where hype got a player through the learning curve. I think he'll be just fine especially if he has playmakers at receiver.

The more he is confident the better he will play GO BRAY

Give the then freshmen some credit. NC was the best team he played and did pretty good. Hopefully he learns from mistakes made in the bowl game. He will miss Moore and Jones though. Rogers and Hunter are big time play makers.

I love the way he senses pressure in the pocket, and moves or throws the ball. Simms took a sack usually. That's what won the fanbase over.

I think the "rival coach" questions his ability to go through progressions and his tendency to throw in double coverage. Which makes him look destined to throw a lot of interceptions.

I don't see how he can question his arm strength, it looked solid (except for last scrimmage).

He very well could struggle against FL. SGM is negative but that's a highly possible scenario.

My thoughts on Bray are simple. He's got all the tools but if he doesn't put in the time he could have cromptonesque results. I think he's instinctually better but if he doesn't understand the science or logic of it then his decisions and results won't match his talent. On instinct alone he put up great numbers against bad teams but he also threw a fair number of iladvised throws. That only continued into the spring. Against good teams though he's got to do more than just lob it up. We're all hyped about his physical abilities but his mental focus may leave us frustrated.

I'm not expecting much from Bray this year... Sophmore slump this year in my opinion...hope im wrong though.

I agree with some earlier posters that he doesn't seem to be able to make multiple read throws.
