TN cannot actually hit "Rock Bottom" as we keep digging ourselves a deeper hole each time we hit the bottom.

Not worried about the NCAA. An SEC school had a coach on tape offering pay for players and nothing of consequence came out of it. I mean surely the coach got fired for that right? Nope still coaching. LSU basically told the NCAA to piss off and nothing came out of it.

Kill the program? Are you stupid, we got caught cheating, take the punishment and move on. Give the staff a chance and support the team that sticks around. If you can't, throw your Vol gear away and go support Bama. Fair weather so called fans bitching,, what else is new. Don't want you here anyway.

Seriously...Has the Vols football hit rock bottom? No.

Has the patience of Volnation hit rock bottom? Yes.

I think we have option 1a - Washington. Then 1b and 1c. I doubt we actually offered a contract to more than 1 person right now, but vetted 5 ore more others that fit our needs just for interests in case our first 1 or 2 fall through. If we haven't vetted 5 or more in this search then our AD and coach are not doing their jobs properly. Much of this is people looking for a raise. Either someone from UT reach out at some point and they are trying to get a raise from it or someone has speculated about it and they are using it to try to get a raise. Personally, I feel like we should have pulled the offer from Washington by now and moved on.

We have basically all the offensive staff done. We have most of the off field staff hired. We just need to get this defensive hire right. This is a hugely important hire and can make the difference between a 5 win season and a 9 win season. That is why we are paying top dollars.

A related question is: has VolNation finally realized that our football program is no longer a desired destination? We can no longer snap our fingers, push a pile of money across the table and get a marquee coach/staff. We can get back there, and I think DW and CJH will get us moving in that direction. I’m looking forward to the ride!

All this "gloom, despair, and agony o'er me, deep dark depression, excessive misery" stuff is for those in need of a spiritual awakening. C'mon folks! Give it a rest. Want to help? Say something positive. These athletes are are in their teens and twenties. Lift them up for a change. Ditto the coaches. I am willing to bet that most of the "negavols" on here are fans of some other program and just laughing at those who are wringing their hands and losing sleep over sports. Hope springs eternal for those who have faith. At this point, sports are the least of my concerns. Always a fan, proud to be an alum, have faith things will get better because they sure can't get much worse (football program). Cheers!

We will not know until late in the 2021 season. If Huepel is the guy, you will see it in results on the field by then. Not necessarily in W and L count, but by how the team plays. (Not a bulletproof test of course, the win at Auburn in Pruitt‘s first season gave me a false sense of security)

My motto continues to be „Believe in a man until he gives you a reason not to“. Coach Huepel has done nothing yet to give me any reason to doubt him. Godspeed Coach Huepel! Get er done!

We got lucky with a decent HC hire, but it looks like filling his staff is proving to be next to impossible.

Now is when guys are supposed to be learning playbacks and watching film so they can hit spring ball with some knowledge of their new schemes. Just a truly terrible place the program is in. Absolutely shambles.
