Yes. This is what the press need to stomp him with. He could have called TO at 10 seconds. Why in the world did he wait!?
Wondering the same thing mike, they did the same against charlotte. As for not calling it during the inbounds they didn't have any, cam took the last one with 3.5 secs left

Like I said in another thread, Pearl had no intention of using that last timeout. Cam realized he had nowhere to go and called the timeout himself. Pearl wanted his guys to get the rebound and push the ball up court and drive the ball to the basket without calling a timeout. Unfortunately Cam felt like he needed a timeout. That's still no excuse for the poor drawup on the inbounds play though.

Two critical coaching mistakes, imo. You're right. Cam should have sprinted the ball to halfcourt and got a timeout with about 6-8 seconds left. And second, when Pearl sees that the drawn up play is not going to work, he should have used the last timeout and tried something else.

Bruce looks zoned out on the sidelines. Looks like someone told him his dog got ran over. He must know some bad news is coming. It's affecting the team. I'm sure they're all hearing this or that. I think it's taking a toll now.
Why not call your last timeout when it's obvious that the inbounds play you drew up is not going to work? I just don't understand that.
The op's question has been answered - he didn't call a timeout on the last inbounds play because he didn't have one. That would have been a technical foul, then you would have started a thread questioning why he called a time he didn't have.
The more important question is why the refs weren't requested to review the timeout and add time back to the clock. That was the worst "home clock" worker I've ever seen. Cam called the TO with at least 5 seconds left, the whistle blew, and the clock operator was too slow on the button. They should have had at least 5 seconds.
All you do is criticize everyone. It is so easy to sit in your chair and yadda, yadda, yadda. Maybe you can throw a beer can at the TV and the right play or player will emerge. Second guessing and why who didn't do what is easy. I hope it makes you feel better, but it won't win any games.
